This definitely did make me think of blocked up pipes, as I was reading, but it definitely does feel like that sometimes when we've got writers block. The last line made me laugh as well. I think we are definitely our own worse critic, and always think what we've written is rubbish. A well written piece. Good luck in the contest.

I've always found these poems sort of ironic, because as you are writing about a writer's block, well...you are writing about something! I have been experiencing one myself as late. I have found sometimes the best solution then is to take a break. Stop trying to force things to come to mind. I'm so desperate to find an "aha" meaning in something I'm watching that I am no longer actually allowing myself to think or feel naturally and therefore I am impeding myself further.

Then, it comes out with something which, again, has the properties of your last line:( I'm going to be remembering your imagery next time and my brain will probably go into complete retreat!
