This is luminous and memorable. The picture makes it even more so, but even without the picture, the haunting repetition of your dire message is tremendously well done. I agree that it's sad that this subject continues to be relevant today. I'm sure when you wrote it, you hoped that wouldn't be the case. Good luck in the contest.

I think your poem is powerful. I can see and feel how much love you poured into it. You're right it can feel difficult to fix one's broken heart and be optimistic about the goodness in humanity. I'm glad that you're okay. Good luck in the contest! And excellent work!
