What a touching work, worthy of more stars than I can offer at this time. I can offer you a memory: My mom went through the times yours did, but my father, thankfully, was there. I failed them miserably in my twenties, but changed my ways later. I was with my mom just before she died, and told her I loved her and asked if she loved me. She said, "I loved you ever since you were born."

I'm sorry your mom died of cancer. She seemed to lived during the same times as my mom. My mom died in 3016 of heart disease. She was 85. I wish people would find cutes for diseases before improving cell phones.
May your mom live in God's Love eternally, and memories with her, comfort you.

This is a beautiful poem about passing away. I am sorry for the loss of your mother. My Grandpa who helped raise me died of cancer. Good luck to you in the contest.

Your mother is indeed an admirable woman. She grew up in a tough era, and she cared for a child as a single mother. I didn't know her, but I would have loved to. Best of luck in the contest.

Your beautiful little cinquain brought a tear to my eye Howard. I have been at many bedsides, occasionally family, but most frequently people I have nursed for many years in the nursing home where I work. Some deaths hit harder than others but family hurt the most. A sad but lovely read
