Another day another shot towards your freedom no matter the cost. You were brave to protest and in the same time a short victory. Thank you for sharing and good luck with your writings.

Your writing is truly something out of this world. Congratulations on 2nd place by the way! Going back to the story, I was amazed at how well you handed the rude remarks of your stepfather. Truly, only the most loving people will feel uncomfortable with hate, even if its against the most despised people in your truly. It says something about your personality, which I love.

Your determination was what was holding the light at the end of that long tunnel, Lea. Determination for yourself and your sisters to be able to get out. I remember when we were olittle sharing the bath. My sister first, then ,me then my brother. But we were able to top it up. Then Dad would bucket it out and put it on the garden.
Onto the next chapter,
cheers,
valda

I'm glad you are able to have that mercy. I have no qualms about sharing B
bath water. What I had a qualms about was not being able to be a warm. His claim was we were using too much energy. He was often a cruel man at best at his worst there was blood. I thank you so much for reading i'm so happy that you're here truly!

This post reminds me that gardening gloves from the dollar store are something I take for granted. That is really strange, even more strange than nineteenth century customs, to have the adults get the clean bath water first, and no one was allowed to have clean water after that. Thank you for sharing.

It was another form of humiliation and abuse that he came up with. He had a few funky ideas let's say. He was a bad dude with a really wicked temper. There's no good memory that I can recall with him. He told us that he didn't like to waste hot water. Yeah okay... Thank you very much again for your comments again. I am truly honored to have you here. Thank you my friend I hope your day is amazing!

Hello Lea,
I can't understand the reasoning behind them wanting you to use the used bath water. When I was living on the farm, we had to pack water from the creek or have it run into a garbage can on the porch from the downspout. There was no such thing as a water heater, we had to use a wood stove, and though it could get quite hot, it took a long time, depending on the quality of the wood we were burning. I think we only took a bath once a week. Once I moved to town I took a hot shower every day, using as much hot water as I wanted to. What you had to endure was just about criminal gal. Maybe it was criminal. I'm sure that there had to have been health issues working in the leech field of the septic tank. At least you made it through, though not unscathed, obviously. Well done.
Have a blessed evening.

Hi Tom well, you had definitely a childhood to Hey? My parents own defishing and hunting resort. We get everything off. Grid gravity feed water pipes that ran through the wood stove, so it would heat up as it went through holding tanks in the loft. I understand what you're saying. Thank you again always happy to see you here and I always appreciate you I'm not alone on this journey because of people like yourself thank you again!

Hi Lea,
actually, I grew up in Ohio, with all the normal things like indoor plumbing ect. It wasn't until I moved to Alaska when I was 24 that we experienced all the issues of trying to make a living in the wilderness.

Oh I see well I understand that kind of living haven't lived it myself. Something to be said for that, though. Really appreciate things more in many ways and you learn a lot too. So I hope I see that you made it through. I hope flip was a good experience for you. I think you mentioned that it was have a great day!

The image of the bath tub scene won't leave my mind. OMG! To have to get into dirty water that two adults have already been is horrifying. Just when I think things can't become worst, they do. I hope you have time to make a plan and time to execute it. Under the circumstances, it will be difficult. I'm glad you are sorting all of this out.

Thank you so much for your kindness. It warns my heart knowing that there are still good people in the world like yourself. Yes, I will get out. I wish there was one shining answer for at all. But there wasn't a piece at a time I suppose there's a method to that. I thank you so very much my friend appreciate you very much!

Again, your style of the prologues and epilogues add such a layer of dramatic irony to the whole narrative process. I love it, the way you separate yourself from yourself. Well done, as usual. x

First of all, congratulations again on the success of your story, Lea. It's a well deserved honor for a story that is so compelling that I can't wait for the next chapter to come out.
It's hard to believe your parents can sink much lower than how you've previously portrayed them, but they seem to outdo themselves with each new chapter, this one included. You've done a great job showing how your anger is building, and we can really sense the coming confrontation. I think they've maybe met their match in you, as your anger is now fueling your determination to beat them. You go, girl! - Jim

And the beat goes on.
When I went through SERE (Survival , Evasion, Resistance and Escape) training at Camp Pendleton in California, similar feelings were exposed.
But at least I knew it would end.
Your descriptions are heartbreaking and tragic.
You are a GREAT writer, Lea
Thanks again for taking me through this with you.

Good freaking gawd!!! Just when I think there's nothing worse he/they can do, then I read about the bathtub hierarchy? This is Hitlerian in its lack of humanity. I am simultaneously sick to my stomach and furious after having read that! You can not get out of that nut house soon enough!!
Well done, Lea. You are doing a masterful job with this autobiography. I'm very proud of all you've accomplished here. xoxoxo
