Oh, Miranda, what have you done? Momma is looking out for you, Mitch it, everyone is, and you throw it back in their faces. You really have to have a word with this Miranda character of yours, Gretchen!! I wonder who that voice belonged to on the phone. It's time for Miranda to recognise she has a big problem and needs more than the help that Dr Carrie can give her. She needs Mitch! I'm off to see what happens! (You realise I want you to post a chapter a day when I've caught up!) xx Sandra xx

Miranda is simply hard headed. A trait I share with her. Lol. Thanks. Gretchen

So, who was the mysterious caller? We'll have to wait on that one. Looks like Momma is plenty protective of Miranda and doesn't mind meddling if she feels it is in Miranda's best interest. Sounds like a caring Mom. Now we have to wait and see if Mitch calls back...

Hello Gretchen,
Another good chapter gal. I really enjoyed this one. I thought that the nozzle on the diesel pump wouldn't fit into a gas vehicle for the very reason you described. I could easily be wrong though. It's unfortunate that the scenario you described is probably played out on a number of occasions around the country daily. I recently offered to help an older gal at the post office with some heavy packages she was struggling with. She owns the franchise and commented that when the day came she needed the help from a man, she'd quit. Alrighty then. I'm glad to see Miranda didn't allow pride to stand in the way of her happiness. Well done gal.
Have a blessed evening.
Tom

They don't fit. But this woman seemed pretty determined. Preston learned a valuable lesson. Stupid is nearly impossible to fix. Thank you for this great review. Gretchen

Preston should have allowed the rich female to ruin that car..such ignorance.
I read the previous chapters tocatch up .I could not come to the site for a few days..
I hope Mitch responds And she should talk about the caller too.

Thank you. I'm glad you liked this. I think Preston was taken aback by her rudeness. As they say, no good deed goes unpunished. Thank you for this. Gretchen

Nice cliffhanger, Gretchen, and a great end to another intriguing piece of writing. Once again I love how we are inside Miranda's head and it is all so real. And all in present tense too!

Another good Miranda chapter. I wonder what would happen if a gas car ran on diesel? that was interesting. Glad she likes the young assistant at work.

Diesel in a gas engine will kill the engine. As in having to replace the entire thing. I'm glad you are enjoying this. Gretchen

It seems Preston has entered Miranda's heart, and her momma has entered her mind. This is a great chapter, as are they all.
The hanger was a great touch. Best, JohnC

LoL that White Karen at the gas station deserves to destroy her car with diesel. So stupid.

I hope Miranda and mitch resolve their differences, he sounds like a good guy.

Great job with this new chapter. :)

It wasn't her car. It was her boyfriends car. Preston is a guy so he knows cars. I think Mitch might make Miranda grovel a little. Gretchen

I am so glad Miranda made the first move. I hope Mitch accepts the apology. They are so good together. I am also worried about the earlier phone call.

"Do you carry First Legion Dark?" The voice that speaks is muffled. (lower case 't' on 'the')

"Hey, idiot." Her voice resembles nails on chalk board. (not 100% positive but pretty sure, comma after 'idiot,' and lower case 'h' on 'her')

"Yes, Gas. Not diesel." Preston says. (comma after 'diesel')

"Pick up, Mitch. Please pick up." I whisper. (comma after 'up')

One of my favorite sayings of all time, "You can't fix stupid." And there has never been truer words spoken. A line idiots prove every day of my life. Thanks for sharing.

Where I work, I see stupid everyday. It truly is unfixable. I really appreciate this kind review and the extra star. Gretchen
