Hair-raising (beard-raising in my case!) but a lot of fun. Oh that naughty Ernie! What other surprises are lined up? Except, I can't see how Ernie could have done that when you are all working together on the project. I suspect 'a ghost in the machine'! (Gilbert Ryle)

The only ghost here is Mr.Calvin - so I wonder if he somehow subverted your program? Well, I shall know soon as I'm reviewing the final chapter in a few minutes. Your usual smooth dialogue and text, Jim, with an added frisson of fun!

Loved it. Paul

They were all in the know except for Allie by that point. Kevin wanted to surprise her with it.

Thanks so much for your fun review and the 6 stars, Paul!

Such an imaginative take on the game of golf and all the characters that have participated. As I had mentioned before, A truist of the game might not have the same engagement as those who have never or barley wandered the short grass. And if they have barely wandered the short grass then be sure they are all too familiar with the heather. Ha

"Truist" or not, I'm happy if anyone wants to read it. Glad you found your way here, Kevin.

This golf course was really fun. I'm not too sure how people will learn golf when there are so many other things they can do for fun. I really enjoyed this part, and it makes the whole game so much more interesting.

So, are you tempted to play now? How about if I can get you one of those suits of Abby's?
reply by Carol Hillebrenner on 06-Nov-2023
I'd need all the help I can get. But to be truthful, I did play golf a few times with my mother. We were on a course being closed down and came to a hole only about 45 feet away. We could not see the flag of where the hole was until we climbed a hill and looked down. When we teed off Mom's ball hit the hill and rolled back. Mine disappeared. We looked everywhere for it until I decided to look in the hole. She never took me to play golf again.

So, was it in the hole?
reply by Carol Hillebrenner on 07-Nov-2023
It was and my mother told me to never tell anyone I made a hole in one that I couldn't even see.

I won't have any sixes by Wednesday so I'll celebrate your book now. What a kick - that Ernie and his programming has to be closely monitored. He's full of surprises. It sounds like a fun simulator - just the cart itself.
But I'm curious when Allie will put on the suit to test it out. I guess you still have a final chapter to show us. Great job with this penultimate chapter!

Thanks so much, Helen, for your gift of 6 stars. Everything will get resolved tomorrow, hopefully to everyone's satisfaction. I'm going to be sad when it's over.

Then the BIG work starts with all the editing and preparing to publish! Great job!

So the simulator is much, much more than just a golfer's help it has the ability to.simulate disasters and create the unlikely, and Gove a thrill at the same time, of course the others are going to meet up with fellow time travelers and meet up at the end of eternity, well done, Jim, blessings Roy

That was a fun chapter! A lot went on there, you got there, money they made to prototype, now they get more money, and he's got fun and games, very interactive game of golf, the booby traps along the way that's pretty cool, guys sure got married in a hurry who is he? got 4 wives now. LOL, I'm kidding of course. Very well written and engaging chapter. Lots of stuff happened! I like The pace of it keeps me engaged the whole life time. So great job with fun characters, vivid imagery, nice job and good submission. Have a great day!

Well, he knew her for a year before he proposed, and then in 5 more months he added her to his collection of wives. Quite the polygamist!

Thanks for your great review, Lea. I'm going to be sad when the story is done on Wednesday. :(

I am liking the way this is going. I do wonder if Allie has any friends for the other two guys. Hmm, maybe I'll find out Wednesday.

The first thing I did the next morning was to call Paul (following morning)

Barbara, did you recall this scene from the prologue when you were reading it?

I'm also wondering if, when we got into all the chapters about building a simulator, you ever thought back to the prologue and figured that's what it was all about?

I guess I'm just curious at what point in the novel you realized what was actually happening in the prologue?

She made herself an integral part of the team . . . just like the three A's.

I thought this sounded familiar. I'd worry about someone having a heart attack as they plummeted toward the rocks - I would!

We're still traveling through time, but this time into the future and their marriage and the team's success.

Quite the scope of places and events, Jim. Looking forward to the final chapter.

Maybe a sign should come up mid-plunge saying, "Remember, you're in a simulator. You're not really heading to your doom!"

But I think that might tend to spoil it :(

With bated breath your readers await the FINAL chapter (?) I doubt that. Somehow you'll likely to find a way to continue on with rocket ships, and lunar modules, or maybe even a Mars Rover.

Yes, perhaps, but not in this story. Good idea, though. Maybe a spinoff like "Joanie Loves Chachi?"

Well written chapter, of course.
There was a lot of telling instead of showing, but I don't think readers would be terribly excited to read of the months and months of product development.
Best wishes.

Thanks, Wayne. I agree; there was probably enough (maybe too much) technical detail in the story already.
