Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

The story continues to hold the reader's interest and I will read the next chapter quickly! Your imagery is just enough to put the reader in the scene but not so much that it bores the reader. The dialogue is true to the era and seems very natural and easy flowing
I am truly enjoying this book.

Thank you. I really appreciate your very kind review.
True, no one needs to be told the detailed pattern of a character's paisley tie.
Thank you for the six stars!

Fascinating and sweet as ever. The singing and inclusion of 'Amazing Grace' works perfectly to augment the writing. I have visited the place where it was composed, in the UK's Northumbria. Very beautiful.

Ben seems to be feeling fulfilled and complete and Beth will be a pleasing wife for him. Interesting to see how they get to know each other better with sharing snippets from their past lives. Good to see he is still following his calling each day. A fine chapter.

Thank you. I thought that the snippets would serve to remind readers of chapters posted so many months ago, as well as to afford newer readers a richer understanding of Ben and his ministry.

Yes, I thought it was cleverly done. A smooth way to remind or inform. Well done.

Beth is an unusual woman and she sings, too! It takes a very strong woman of faith to be flexible to the calling of her husband. It was great to see their ministry melding and their communication open.

Questions/Comments:
I always liked the verse which is rarely included:
"The Lord has promised good to me; His Word my hope secures
He will my shield and portion be, as long as life endures"

Wasn't sure what a "second hand clap" was.

    Thank you.
How would you write - When a person begins applause, and there is hand-clapping, and other join in on the second clap?
reply by lyenochka on 05-Nov-2023
    Like a syncopated clapping?

Beth and Ben are very good at giving a great service and can feel proud of themselves. Then they seem to have a lovely trip north, except for that town. Beth is understanding when he feels God wants him to leave the main road and go to a sawmill operation. They are very well matched.

Santa Rosa New Mexico is a hard Catholic town however, in 1977 I put up a tent and held a revival drawing many to Christ. Reading this made me think how great it would have been more had I a team that sang songs like you mentioned.

    Thank you.
I've been to (and thru) Santa Rosa, N.M. many times.
reply by Ben Colder on 05-Nov-2023
God sent me there to put up my tent just outside the town. We had a good meeting. Miracles etc. The Catholic people were hungry for something real and not forms of godliness. Those that received the Holy Spirit were never the same again.
    Loved every minute of it.
    Many events happened those days

I have the feeling that Ben and Beth won't settle down for quite a while. I also would bet that the creepy town will get some healing from Ben and Beth. Her singing can draw them in, his preaching can get them to stay. Karen

This is an interesting question. It will definitely engage (no pun intended) the reader and invite them to speculate as to the reason why, which of course will be colored by their own knowledge and experience: " "Why do you think that old couple, J.O. and Martha, waited so long to get married? Surely, they had opportunity." Well done

On the opposite end, a couple kept putting off when they would get divorced in consideration for the kids & kids' kids. So after everyone died, they got divoeced...lol

You can say one thing for sure about Ben and Beth's life together - it will never be boring and always unpredictable.

Married life seems to agree with them.

I'm loving all the lovey-dovey stuff you and Jim Wile are writing lately:-)

See you next time.

Pam

This is another excellent chapter. With Beth in the story, it is truly enriched. I look forward to the next chapter. I do not see any room for improvement. Have a blessed day.
