This is another excellent chapter. It seems that Ben and Beth's marriage is starting well. I do not see any room for improvement. I look forward to the next chapter. Have a blessed day.

Another great chapter! I just wish I knew what Ben and Luther said when Ben gave his notice. Wasn't Luther disappointed? He offered even Beth a job. And Beth's father offered the house. Then they just go right off and leave! Oh well, that's his calling, I know.

"How many days do you want. (question mark)

    Thank you.
Yes, a Luther and Ben conversation would be appropriate.

When people belong together everything works. This is moving along really well. Today I was interrupted by the delivery of a mattress and the exterminator. This ate up a lot of my time. Good writing mister.

It's wonderful that Ben has a life and is moving on in his ministry. Beth seems to be the perfect wife as she is adventurous and has great Bible comprehension so they can discuss it.

Yes, sir, I'm sure a street preacher just has to get out whatever kind of message he can in a hurry, hoping to reach whoever might be listening and not trying to dodge him. But this time, Ben's found a ready made church just waiting for someone to preach the gospel. Thanks for sharing.

This is a sweet story and shows the way I wish the world is/was--filled with good people doing good things for each other. It is interesting that someone in that era notes the difference in a pastor and a preacher. I am anxious to read about his first sermon and weddings.
Good job.

Rest assured that Ben has had his share of life's difficulties. He's been beaten to the point of serious injury, shot, and killed in a mine shaft. He was shanghaied and later framed and imprisoned, sentenced to hang.
But rather than complain, he praises God.

Wayne, you need some dialogue tags to help us to understand who is speaking. For instance, you're talking about Beth's parents and then someone is offering his house for the honeymoon. I thought it was someone from the church or her parents until they began talking about the gardens.

You have the line, "Guess I will at that" then you begin, "So, I've given it some thought . . ." I thought the speaker had changed since you began a new line, so that threw me off a little. Dialogue tags would help this whole conversation.

"I'm bringin; you both a piece a' pie . . ." remove the semi-colon

Well, I'm wondering if this becomes a weekly gig for Ben, but 35 miles seems a long way to have to travel in a buggy to preach. Still, you haven't planted the seed:-) And I can't imagine he'll leave Luther and Beth's parents. But, it is his calling.

Just wondering out loud.

At 3-4 this A.M. I posted and then did a bunch of editing - big mistake! It was prob'ly better before the editing. (growly face here)
Thank you for the review, and for the help.

How do you think at 3 a.m., lol? I get up at 4:00. Yes, get it right before you post it - and get some sleep!

Things seem to be moving along quite rapidly now. Are we nearing the conclusion? You've hinted at further travels like to Alaska, so maybe not, but Ben seems to have found some stability in his life and it seems like he could be happy settling here and starting a family. We'll see.

I really like Beth. She seems like a good match for Ben.

It is good to know that God is allowing Ben to have the love of good woman in his life. This will be a new direction for him in some ways but she should be a bit help to him. She is willing follow wherever God leads Ben.

It looks like Ben Persons, has not only found a wife, but he's found. a church to preach in, and and his new Bride Beth, who is learning scripture according and quickly, this could be the opportunity that gGod has given him to be able to preach and evangelise, beautifully written Wayne, well done. Blessings Roy
