I liked how you created a clear character arc for your character in such a short piece. You can see what he is feeling and how his actions impact him in the present. This is a well written piece.

This is a very appropriate post for the contest and many people are imprisoned by their guilt and remorse. My Mother carried the burden of her past until she died, she had an unhappy childhood and could not forgive for it. Even at her funeral her sister mentioned their childhood that had haunted them unnecessarily for their entire lives. I thought this was such a shame and they both needed counselling. Alas it is far too late now as my Mother'e sister dies two weeks after my Mother. My childhood was not brilliant, but I refuse to let it ruin my life. Your post is well written and many will identify with your words here, a fine post, love Dolly x
