Hi Beth,
This poem is a humorous look into a serious problem. Snoring is usually a night time breathing problem. It is a madding thing that keeps the spouse awake. It usually can be solved by going to the doctor and getting a devise
that helps you breathe easier. I can see why Stu stays awake. Who wouldn't after getting earplugs stuffed up his nose.
Congrats on placing third in the contest.
Keep writing and stay healthy.
Have a good day.
Joan

Thank you for this peek into another's one bedtime dilemmas. It was humorous and yet through it all you could see the love despite the inconvenience of a snore. Loren

Thank you, Loren. The poem was fictional. My husband did snore, but It never upset that much. We had a wonderful life for 61years.
I really appreciate the six stars.

Hahaha, Beth, this is priceless. I absolutely love it. I sympathise with Aussie. I can't stand snoring either. She loves him but in the end she can't stand it anymore. They have now found a truce, but he doesn't quite trust her. All the best of luck. Ulla:)))

Thank you Ulla. I delighted that you like my little poem. Snoring can really get on a persons nerves, especially if you are in bed and badly in need of some sleep. It is worse than a dripping faucet.

    I totally agree. There's nothing worse. :)))

Any of us who have a bed partner that snores can relate to this. At least, you didn't lose your sense of humor and have put it to good use in this poem. The rhyme and flow are perfect. It's pure fun to read. Thanks for sharing.

The author's words are humorous, descriptive and creative. I found the
poem enjoyable to read with humor all the way through the read.
The poem flows and connects well. The artwork is awesome and funny as
it goes well with the words and theme of this poem.

Snoring can be a real deal breaker for that person who has to just lie and bear it or plug their ears. Me, I'd just push them out in the floor. My ex wife said but you're the one that snores. But it didn't matter to me, because I couldn't hear it. LOL. Thanks for sharing. Actually I don't snore - I have a Cpap. :-)

You probably did until you got one. My son has one too. My husband never told me I snored but he did until he got nasal strips. I live alone now and if I occasionally make a noise in my sleep, it wakes me up.

I did snore until I got that machine. But that was after the wife. So, I got to torture her until I was gone. :-)

As a fellow snorer I can empathise with your husband as I also have to use a machine to stop me snoring. I used to drive my husband mad so I had to do something about it. You have described the annoyance very well and I'm sure my husband was tempted to stifle me too. Good luck!

Thank you Wendyanne. I was trying to make it humorous but the noise can get too you if aren't able to sleep because of it. My husband used nasal strips which worked pretty well and we eventually went to separate bedrooms but I wasn't bothered so bad I tried to stifle him.

This poem, Tempted to Stifle, presented with five AABB-rhymed fourteener-lined quatrains, tells a familiar tale to many who have suffered through the log-sawing of a mate to the point of pillow smothering.

Thank you Bill, Most of us have probably been there and know how our kind laid-back attitude can change with enough of log-sawing.

In Lead-in line above title "snoring drive" should be snoring drives.

In a situation like that, Stu better be worried about Susie messing with his nose. Might be the least of his problems.

Nothing worse when someone tries to sleep than loud snoring. Would drive anyone nuts.

Oh! This is just too cute, Beth! My Jim had that problem, but I never let it bother me. It was like a lullaby to me. When he was away I had trouble sleeping. That's strange isn't it, but it's true. Everyone remarked on his snoring on hunting trips, but it never bothered me. Loved him! LOL Well done. Loved the poem! Nancy:)

Thank you Nancy, I've heard other women say that too. My Evan had that probably too. When I was young, it didn't bother me too bad but when I had started having trouble sleeping it did bother me. He evenually started using nose strips which really helped. I thrilled with the six stars. I'm glad you like my poem.
