It doesn't look good for Ben. The prosecutor clearly has it out for him and the judge is against him. It will have to take an act of God but He is on Ben's side so I'm sure it will work out...

Thank you.
Just not in the way we might expect.

Well, this isn't looking good for Ben:-( Of course, he'll pray on it and a miracle will save him. Or maybe he's meant to go to jail to witness there. One never knows . . .
Good chapter of dialogue, Wayne.

You are the only one willing to accept that prison might be within Ben's calling. Everyone else wants a miraculous, happy outcome.
Thank you.

Oh dear. The odds seem stacked against him, but I am sure that all will be well in the end. Looking forward to the next instalment and the outcome, I presume. Exciting stuff.

I'm wondering, Walter, did you have access to the transcripts of a trial similar to Ben's? I'm asking because you did an excellent job of developing the ensuing drama in the courtroom. You have the procedure down pat. Where did you get your experience. Just wondering.
Jay.

No transcripts. I read a lot.
Thank you for your fun review.

The trial doesn't seem to be going in Ben's favor. God's going to have to come up with something quickly as the lawyer doesn't seem to have any proof Ben didn't kill the man, certainly no deliberately.

This was entertaining but a little frustrating. I'd say Henry didn't do his job very well. His cross examination of the doctor was pathetic. He should have had his own medical expert to testify there was no way a kick to the groin would cause the death of the man. He also didn't prep his own witnesses very well. Let's hope something good comes along to save the day for Ben.

You are right. But Ben is scripted to go to prison, so what could Henry do but present badly? (smiley face here)
In fairness, Henry's expert was the hospital doctor who was sent away by the authorities.

Doesn't look too good for Ben. With everything so biased, I worry about his chances. Why wasn't Moody there? Where is the lighting and thunder? We need some intervention here. Karen

Awesome chapter Wayne! I hope for the right outcome!
You have Set the stage for this fine chapter. The courtroom the prosecutor the defense. The a language that goes with behavior in the courtroom. All very well detectives completely believable. And I also think your characters are exactly as they should be. So it lends to the credibility of the story.
Having said that, this chapter is free of dramatical errors, it's also free of sentence structure, spelling or choice and presentation. It's all very well done and you've got a nice piece submitted here. I wish you best of luck.
Have a good day!

Well, as usual, you've left us exactly where I expected to be. Not sure of where things might go from where they were left. LOL. Thanks for sharing. ...................

Jury trials are always interesting. It looks like the prosecution is doing a good job to negate Ban's witnesses' testimony. You have left us wondering how the the jury will decide the case. It's excellent way to keep us in suspense.
