The business of prayer, a good starting point for all of us. I'd already read and written a review for this chapter before reading the next, but for some crazy reason the review wasn't sent. I'm just glad I went back to check. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for including Moody's sermon and I found it most intriguing that he urged people to pray for themselves. One pastor said the same thing to women praying for their spouses. It was only then, that the husbands came to the Lord. I guess you'll show us what impact the sermon had on Ben.

I see now, that occasionally you use real sermons in the story. This adds a fascinating element to your writing. Well done and thanks, as usual, for sharing this with us.

I was a little lost in the paragraph about Spafford. His family is in Chicago, then the daughters die at sea coming from England, but he writes a song on that trip and isn't lost at sea? Was that a different trip from the one where his daughters were lost?

I really like this line, and it's so true: When I pray, I talk to God. When I read the Bible, God talks to me. There was a time in my life when I read the Bible every day, and I found it freaky the way the words often seemed aimed at me personally.

Thanks for including Moody's remarks; it allows the reader to get to know who he was a little better.

See you soon.

    Thank you.
I'll see if I can fix the Spafford paragraph. It was two trips. He was not with his wife and daughters on the trip that it wrecked.
I was worried that readers might find these last two chapters too preachy.
And I absolutely believe that God can, and does, speak individually through His word.

This is a good point that you made that even Ben finds times when he hears exactly the words he needs, not just in God's voice but also in the voice of other ministers.

Such an inspiring chapter, Wayne! So all the quoted words were from the Moody sermons? And I can't imagine a more inspirational song than the one you chose to accompany this chapter. You did well, Sir!

Thank you. And yes, all the sermon quotes of both Moody and Sunday were taken verbatim.

An excellent way for you to spread the real Christian message in a positive way. The words expressed by both Ben and D L Moody are powerful and I pray they will continue to convict people in our day and age, for a storm iis coming now as well. Enjoyed relistening to "It is well with my soul" early on this Sunday morning too. A good start to the day. Thank you for this encouraging story.

I'm glad you included these last two chapters. I thought they were appropriate to reinforce what Ben is trying to do by seeing it in others as well. And what you chose to excerpt was very good too. I think it was just enough, and now it's time for some more of the plot. Well done. - Jim

Boy is that some powerful singing. Do you remember the "Goodson Family" " Their three sons still sing. And every single year the country artists would put out at least one compilation record per publishing house. I guess I really show my age when I say wish music, rv, movies, and conversations in general could manage without curse words, talking about or showing various body parts. You write a good story.
I am kind of hoping for thunder and lightning to strike the court house. Karen

    Thank you.
But I fear Ben is but a mere mortal trying to follow God's leading in a very sinful world.
And yes, I remember the Goodsons.
