Aww, Aaron is such an innocent, he'd be perfect as a preacher. But, he's right, as with any job, you have to learn the ropes, and in the church ways, that's learning the Lords Prayer at the very least!! Well there is one lad who will be happy he's back, and that's Waylon. Another lovely chapter, Gretchen. You are such a natural at writing, all your books have that ring of realism about them. Onwards again! :)) Sandra xx

You're a trooper to review each chapter when there's no money gain. But I do appreciate it. Gretchen

Hello Gretchen,
somehow I missed this post and just now got around to reading it. It was interesting to see that Miranda thought she could dictate the terms of her employment. When the boss no longer has a say in how things go, he may as well quit and go elsewhere. It's too bad Aaron dropped out of the seminary, but being a preacher isn't something that you really can choose I don't think. I think you have to be called to it. Well done gal.
Have a blessed evening.
Tom

Miranda is rightly ticked off that her boss feels like she needs a teenage bodyguard. But what can she do since he is the boss?
Great interaction between Miranda and Waylon. They seem very at ease with each other.
Matt is a new character to me, but it looks like the other characters know him well. Poor Matt. It seems that being a preacher is too hard. I like his philosophy though that religion should be about loving thy neighbor. Matt is likeable but appears he cannot stick to anything. I wonder what he has to tell Miranda. I know, stay tuned for the next chapter.

Well, poor Miranda! First Matt produces an unacceptable assistant and then one of her sons turns out to be a culinary waste disposal unit!
But the dialogue never ceases to be smooth and credible, even through the changes of scene and personnel.
Believable that Matt would fight his own corner too, so Miranda had better not push too hard. But my favorite was Aaron, the almost minister; that he can't remember any of the words (and you won't cope with the next ten years of theology either!) is a solid gold veto. No wonder we get the amusing ending. No one thought you'd make it Aaron!

Now what's going to become of them next time?

Paul

Sometimes that produces the best stories - I work that way too.

I had to look up the word Gatorade, never heard of it before. Preston sounds familiar, a strong character from your other book and I like that he has also entered this story too. A fine chapter Gretchen, love Dolly x

The sheer logic that Matt brought out, despite the misplaced pride, and the anger for violating that pride was understandable, but irrevocably illogical, Matt pointing out he's the boss, and, like a lot of women think, they are the boss, how could he. How dare he!? And now Aaron turns, skipping preacher class, realising he's nor God's gift to sprewking . Well done, blessings Roy

I think Miranda probably has a new but grudging respect for Matt since he stood up to her. Thanks for this. Gretchen

This definitely sounds like a chapter what is going to get me to begin at chapter 1. This sounds like a very good story so I will go back to chapter 1 and catch up. Isn't is funny how people have passed on for generations that please is a magic word. Some kids think if they say please they will get the wish granted. What a delusion. This concern of the speaker will definitely draw the reader in. See you ar ch. 1

Oh, I'm so happy you liked this enough to go back to the beginning. Miranda is a fun character to write. She isn't afraid to say the things I can't. LOL. Thank you for this. Gretchen

So Aaron's back. That might be a really good thing. I'm not sure Preston is going to last too long. I do really like this story. You're doing a good job writing it.

He sits down in his worn office chair. "I think maybe you do." (omit 'down')

Life moves on every day for all of us, Miranda, Aaron, Waylon, and whoever else. But thankfully, there is always tomorrow to comes along and make us think about something besides what we didn't like before. LOL. Thanks for sharing.
