It's fantastic, Barbara.
My mom wrote me practically every day when I was in the Army, in College, and anywhere else I was when away from home.
They weren't deep letters: the dog is fine, your aunt is in the hospital, etc. But it sure was nice to hear from her daily before cell phones.
When I moved a few years ago I lost them.

Mi biggest wish for you and your beautiful grand daughter would be for your wishes for her to come true. Sadly, there is only so much we as individuals can do. Prayer is wonderful, but it is never a complete hedge against adversity. That is where strength of character has to step in and try to carry the day. Happily, this can be taught and reinforced with consistency.

Barbara, This is a very sweet letter you have written for Eleanor. What an adorable picture of her. I know you have to miss seeing them. We are blessed to live close to our only grandson. Greyson is 9 years old now and he doesn't want to spend as much time with Mam Maw and Pap Pap like he used to. It really breaks my heart. I've also been put in my place by my son who still doesn't know that I've already posted a picture of my granddaughter! I think those are wonderful wishes for her and I heartily agree with your own lesson learned. In fact I was actually discussing it a few days ago in relation to my friends, one of whom is always trying to be something she's not - and it's quite transparent to everyone else but herself. Well done, Barbara! You're definitely getting into the swing of this now! Debbie

I will continue asking and writing new letters as they girls get older. I am thinking every 5 years. Thank you for the support.
