This is a lovely Compound word poem Debi. Staring with the threat of rain and ending with a colourful rainbow. A great choice of compound word, gave you plenty of scope. Nicely done
Cheers

The author's words give a wonderful appreciation for rain! Lately there
has been so many storms and flooding I am glad to see how this author
brought out the positives of rain! The poem flows and connects well. The
last stanza was wonderful and yes, rainbows bring delight!
Great Poem, Debi!

    Hi harmony13,
I?m glad you enjoyed the poem and I appreciate the encouraging comments about the writing.
It?s too bad the weather can?t even out. We?ve had drought and water restrictions for a few years and others have floods.

Hi Debi,
This is a good post for the club. It describes the life of a thunderstorm well and leaves strong images and sounds.
Keep writing and stay healthy

I enjoyed encountering this new poetic form which you have demonstrated so beautifully. Rain is one of my favorite things (it was even the name of my first horse). Sun showers are also a favorite H2o category--as well as snow.

    Hi Daylily,
Thank you for the encouraging comments. I like that your horse was named Rain. I usually name my horses for music, but like your choice.
    Have a great week.

Thank you for sharing this club entry with us. We got some rain while I was on vacation but not nearly enough to get us out of the severe drought category. We are still on water usage restrictions. I enjoyed reading, especially because it was about rain. Besides it's a good poem.

    Hi barbara.wilkey,
Thank you for the kind words.
We've been in drought for a few years now. Crossing fingers that the coming winter brings lots of snowpack in the mountains and rain to the valleys. Hope your water situation improves, too.
    Have a wonderful week.

Well done! I like this, debi. It's certainly different isn't it.
Yes, that is often the way a storm develops, and it does it's thing then leaves us with the colorful goodbye of a Rainbow. We had one of those on Saturday. Lots of rain this year. Nancy:)

This seems to be a quite complicated poetic form but you seem to have managed it well. The subject matter really works in this form and I like the way you have told the story of rain from beginning to end. I think that rain puddles should be two words not one though.

    Hi Eleri,
Thank you for the excellent analysis of the theme and the form. Yes, 'rain puddles' is typically two words but I took poetic license so it fit the requirements of the form. The example given in the prompt did it with several words to fit the form so I followed suit.
I appreciate the encouragement. Have a great week.

-Nice artwork and presentation, Debi.
-You did a good job with the form and topic.
-Effective imagery, rhyme, and compound words.
-The poem flows well like the "sweet rainfall."
-The progression is also excellent as you
tell the story of this rainstorm.
-The ground was "cracked and dry"
but a raindrop fell. The rain intensified
and puddles formed on the ground that had been dry.
-A very good concluding verse with the appearance of the rainbow.
-Well done. I enjoyed reading it. It is an interesting form.
