So this is where I left off Rhonda.. I started reading RtCV last night and it's so good its keeping me hooked. I'm on episode 11 tonight. I'm also enjoying your characters... everyone needs a Bessie in their lives but not a Sara Beth...I think if Brian was a bar of chocolate he would eat himself Lol! Theo sounds like a dish and has come to Echo's rescue yet again. I went to bed last night wondering if Theo still had 'Cindy' Echo's teddy bear... sorry it's the romantic in me.. Lol!
All the best.
Jill:)

Oh wow, you've come a long way, Jill. Thanks for checking in so I know your thoughts so far. Feel free to mention any alignment issues that pop up, like missing characters, or something I say, then contradict later. It's hard to keep up when you spread your story over months, lol.
I'm deeply honored you're doing this, and I appreciate you!!!
    Hugs,
    Rhonda

Wonderful!!!! There was suspense, anger, fear, everything in this chapter, and a brilliant ending! Theo is back!! I'm so glad. It was nice that Echo knew him, remembered him from all those years ago, and he remembered her. I love it! I can't wait to read on. Well done, Rhonda, this is a fabulous story. :)) Warmest hugs, Sandra xxx

Sandra, thank you for the beautiful six stars, my friend! Thank you for each and every comment as it?s so helpful to know where I?m heading in the right direction.

I?m about to get way more into the fantasy aspects as Theo comes back. He?s clearly more than he seems.

Again, thank you for reading, and thank you for reviewing,

    Hugs,
    Rhonda

This officer Bradley is a certainly curious sort of fellow: ""It wasn't my finest moment," he replied.
"Why, because you found a dead body," Brian asked, "or because you got caught?" He reached out a hand and touched Echo's. Her skin felt clammy and her face was as pale as snow. The incident between echo and Junior was a bit stressful. I guess we didn't need to worry about
Echo: "Energized by her success, she ran, barefooted and bleeding, to a towering tree at the edge of the forest. She paused a fraction of a second, then, mustering resolve, reached a hand out to grasp the closest limb. Everything Theo had taught her about walking in trees came flooding back. She leapt upwards." The ending is mysterious but draws us in.

WOWSERS! Rhonda - a million surprises in one story! Obviously a 12 star bonanza piece - but a footling five is all I have,

Well, I knew Theo would return and I was sure Officer Bradley was innocent (and I was sure Brian was an idiot) but I never guessed the denouement today. Looks like our trio of demons could be just that - not of this earth at all - so their satanic lord is yet to be revealed.

Which leaves us with a conjunction of realities and a totally different set of rules (maybe two sets) as we continue the story.

Absolutely intriguing - brilliant reveal!
Love it.

Paul

Wow, Paul, you picked up on a lot!

Thank you so much for the review, and a careful one at that.

Definitely a new set of rules, which will be explained bit by bit. I had to go ahead and make the switch back to fantasy as it was starting to shift too much to criminology, lol.
The Specters are a bit between worlds and I?ll make them more defined as well.

Thanks for hanging in there for the change, and, yes, you had guessed some of it already.

    Take care, my friend,

Hello Rhonda,
This is another excellent chapter in the story of Echo. It seems we are
going to enter the world of dark fantasy, ala the Dare Devil Girls, with
demons and monsters, or in this case, specters. I assume they are either
from Theo's world or a world at odds with it. Echo must be a very important person to draw so much attention from the specters and their boss.
And the specters appear to be afraid of Theo.
The next chapter should be very revealing, as we learn about Theo's world.
Well done.
Best wishes.
Robert

Thank you for the six star rating, Robert.
I hope the change over went okay, but I knew it was time. People, like you, were starting to guess some things.
I will definitely start revealing the rules for the new world, and there is a secret behind Echo.
Is it too dark? Definitely DDG leanings.

Take care and thanks so much,
    Rhonda

Lovely to return to the past like that. An excellent switch in your story. This is so well written. The action and drama are handled skilfully and you leave it all on a great cliffhanger. Well done.

Thank you so much, John, for your review and comments. I appreciate what you said about the switch. It?s kind of hard to pull off, sometimes, but I try to build the characters before stepping into the unknown.

    Take care,
    Rhonda

I was hoping that Theo would reappear in the nick of time. I figured that the Officer Bradley was something to keep the reader guessing or go on the wrong path. Great job with all the suspense. Virtual six.

Thank you for the virtual six. I have to do that a lot, lol. Sometimes I can hold on to them, other times, not so much.

Thanks for your comments, yes, Officer Bradley wasn't who he seemed, as well, neither was Junior. Theo showed up when needed, once again, but it's not over with yet. The Specters are a persistent lot.

    Hugs,
    Rhonda

Excellent tension building. I was hoping Theo would show up and save the day, especially once we reached the forest and Echo threw off her coat and shoes.
So, a group of bad guys instead of just one. Oh, the plot thickens.

Thank you for the six stars, Debi!
It was about time Theo showed up, lol, it was starting to sound like a thriller instead of fantasy.
That?s not the end of the bad guys yet?

    Thanks again, my friend,
    Rhonda
