Hi Marie,
This is a well done poem which gives off eerie images of a rainy Halloween night. It show the fun and scary parts of Halloween and the not so fun and times for the poor, homeless and strays on such a night.

Excellent

This is a good poem describing Halloween sights but I think you needed to make more of the 'real-life' aspect or leave it out completely. I think I would have described the 'fun' parts of Halloween all first and then gone on at the end to set the scene of the homeless to show the comparison. Putting it in the middle of the poem as you have just does not work for me.

This poem, Halloween Street Scenes, paints the expected picture of the seasonal decorations and nocturnal scamperings, but folds in the far-too-real "faces of the homeless", which reminds the readers of what is truly scary.

You capture the mood and theme of Halloween very nicely in your rhyme. The combining of trick or treating kids with the normal street happenings as well as nature is a welcome and unexpected touch. I rarely comment on pictures but geez this one is so cool. Great overall job!
