I guess this means Ben must stand trial for murder. It sound like he has a lot of men in his corner. I would think it would apparent that he was defending himself but Ben seems to be feeling he struck the first blow. I'll be anxious to see how this comes out.

Bad news. It is always darkest before the dawn,
and Ben has a much more powerful attorney
than Henry. I don't believe Ben is worried. He
knows where-in his comfort lies. LOL Nancy:)

    Thank you.
But just remember, 30-40 chapters ago Ben was beat up, shot, and killed. Just sayin'.

Ooh. Exciting and slightly scary stuff. I'm sure he'll be fine, unless you're drawing to an end? Looking forward to finding out if he gets off. Will justice prevail, I wonder?

Keep in mind that we do not like predictability.

So, there just happened to be two policemen nearby when Ben assaulted Colosimo and his brother? They seemed to appear out of nowhere.

Seems to me that Mario was going to die anyway because of the infection, and perhaps a doctor will attest to that on Ben's behalf. But I'm just speculating here:-)

Sounds like Ben's time in the jail cell was time well spent. He never wastes an opportunity.

Good chapter, Wayne.

Thank you. The cops were dirty. It was a set up.

He's in a pickle now. Corrupt police after him as well as gang members. He will need divine help to get out of this one. Always well written, and always interesting.

    Thank you.
I just researched 'in a pickle', though I've used the expression all my life. Interesting. I knew it was the same as 'in a fix', or 'in a stew', but didn't know that was originally so literal - in a stew.

Boy howdee did you pack a whole lotta stuff in one part of the story? It reeled me in Lickety split. I have read one of these before, but it didn't latch onto me like thiis did. I will have to go back an read more won't I? And you can read "My Friend George", and my poem "I Was Tempted to." Good Story.

Oh no! Ben should have just ducked and run. But he's become so good at defending himself. Now he has the corrupt police after him plus that mob boss angry about his son. God has to do some big miracles for Ben now.

Ben has a really good gang of people representing him, but the Chicago gang can maybe pay off police and witnesses better. Fortunately, there was a decent newspaper article supporting Ben. Interesting story line.
