Not even a backward glance might serve us all best. The new milestones ahead is what we should be striving for. I don't read much poetry, but I'm certainly glad to have ran across yours. So few words that say so much.
Thanks for sharing.

nice short poem with a good message - don't look backwards and move forward to a new milestone in life. I would have made it a bit darker don't look backwards as they might be gaining on you.

Important for us to not look back at the things that happened before but I look forward to the things that are ahead. I enjoyed your poem very much, and I wish you the best in the contest. Patricia

This is a nice bit of zen reflection that I think we all know is true but often have a difficult time putting into practice (the other truth we all know but the Academy has a hard time acknowledging is the greatness of Meryl Streep). The image pairs up well with the poem but I wish it were not so big--it really does overshadow the text on the screen. Not a criticism (and nothing I think you can control), just an observation. Good luck in the contest!

This work has reached the exceptional level

The poem is quite lovely, and the picture enhances it. I love the thoughts contained in so few lines. I like the hope that is found in the last line. Good luck in the contest.

What a great message! I was sure I reviewed this but I have had so many interruptions today. I will have to shed those, too!
Yes, there are lots of burdens that can weigh us down but we can give them over to God and be free to move forward. Best wishes in the contest!

I really connected to this verse.

My 25 year marriage has ended and coping with it is a daily struggle.

On good days I tell myself the very sentiment you speak of.

I love the image you selected because it it such a peaceful road, screaming tranquility.

As the poet, Rupi Kaur said,
"At some point you have to stop asking why."

Thank you for this offering.

Well-thought-out poetry. I just did one myself. Not for the contest. Just for me. I have been reading old stories with very few points for friends and did not have enough for contests. So, While I read cheapie points things I will not be entering anything which costs points.

I really liked this one. It hit me right in the solar plexus. This poem was amazingly strong.
What you accomplished with very few words is no small thing. I wrote "I Really Don't Belong Here" it is an almost 9000 word story, folks are telling me to make it a novel, when you have time, tell me what you think, pack a lunch, hahaha , Tell me a few stories you would like me to read. Karen

    I have already read that.
O henry's short stories are great .Jeffrey Archer's books too are great .Though he is famous for his novels ,I prefer his short stories. They really have unexpected endings.

I forgot that you had, sorry. I have been writing a lot lately.
Thanks for all your kind words, I like Jeffrey Archer too. Karen

Yes, we can't look back. It's pointless - what happened 10 minutes ago is already history. We can only move forward

Lots of wisdom in those words. Liked the presentation.

Good luck in the contest.

This is an excellent 15 word poem. Your presentation is very good, too. You also use descriptive words and colorful imagery that draw in a reader. Many will relate to this.

Best wishes!

Alexandra
