This poem has the correct number of syllables per line for the contest and certainly is thoughtful. However, I don't really like your use of the word 'thee' as we do not use it nowadays. Why not say something like 'listen to her words' instead as that is more straight-forward.

Thanks for the feedback . The speaker is not meant to be "modern" hence the use of 'hold' and 'thee'.. :)

Not sure about the use of the word 'thee' but the message of your little poem is otherwise wise and well put. Older people always have wisdom for the younger ones. Well done and good luck.
