Virtual six, my friend. I just spend my last one on your lovely 15 syllable poem. This day always gives me pquse to reflect and remember with great gratitude the fallen and the heroes that helped us get last the devestation of the orchestrated attacks. I have since learned through my biblical studies that Jesus was born on September 11, 3 B.C. during the Feast of Trumpets and during the time of the census when each Roman citizens had to return to their birthplace to register and to be taxed. Makes sense that the enemy of life would attack this day, doesn't it?

Food for thought for today. As all spiritual and physical attacks, we overcome in His name! We overcome with His love, goodness, and care too. Sending you my best today as always,
Sal XOs

Oh, Sal, your closing of this review is so wonderful. Yes, we overcome evil and wickedness with love and kindness. I have a hard time on September 11th. because we also believe that we live in grace, that Christ died and was resurrected for the sins of ALL men... *sigh* ("Forgive them for they know not what they do.") I guess I need an answer that makes sense... All who believe in Him? I'll be in the Word for a while again!
Thank you, my friend. My best to you and yours too! xxoo

We're all appreciative of Canada's help on 9/11. I'm sorry, but I'm confused as to what the poem about Phil Dooley has to do with 9/11, unless it's just highlighting compassion. Perhaps you could make this a little clearer for the reader. I do like your response to it, as well as the spectacular video by West End Performers. Blessings. Carol

Right you are -- I wondered if i had made that clear enough with only one statement at the end. Thank you!

I admit to being a bit confused as to whether this was a tribute to the people of Gander or to the man on the bike so felt it should perhaps be two separate pieces of writing. And you seemed to mention the preparations for the disaster more than the actual responses. I somewhat reluctantly give it a five therefore but perhaps more focus on just one element might make it better. Please don't be offended but I want to be both honest and helpful.

You poem, Dawn, written as a review for Lisa Butler's verse is beautiful and an absolute credit to your skill and love of words. I mentioned in a PM I've been a little confused by the focus of your post and felt it needed a clearer introduction. I gather that the subject of Lisa's poem was a Gander resident and that the community came into its own to help stranded passengers. But all your aids and references need more commentary from yourself and cohesion generally to facilitate understanding by the reader. I hope that makes sense. Possibly, you tried to cover too much in this post? But I shalln't forget Gander or your lovely poem:) Debbie x

I don't remember if I ever heard about the Gander story, but was very glad to revisit it. The videos were great. It's too bad that we have to go to such a remote place to find such compassion. I'm sure that would not happen in the big city.

Thank you, Paul. I'm sad to agree -- it might very well not happen in a big city... *sigh*

This story, Loving Our Neighbors, is an eye-opening tale of coming to the aid of the U.S. in its biggest assault since Pearl Harbor. The people of Gander saved the day and made a way for the world to go on.

I can remember after the tragedy of the world trade centre attacks, they grounded all those plains, and the American plains were housed in Canada, I that attack was heard all round the world, we viewed the attacks on TV here, it almost resembled a film, but it was real, well done, Dawn, blessings Roy

Canada was there for the US as they have always been.

When they closed US Airspace they put us in planes and flew my agency to all the major airports in the US. It was weird knowing we were the only ones in the air and had fighter escorts We were second responders.

I served at Kennedy International and Logan and visited ground zero during the recovery. Intense to say the least.

We appreciated the Canadian response. There were many at ground zero.

Great informational write up. Thanks for the memories.

I am so sorry to bring up memories of that tragic day -- I do hope they were not all awful ones, although I imagine they were... And probably pretty frightening too, being in the air that day.
Thank you for your gracious response and generous review. Thank you too for your service, and for being where you were needed -- many would not have been.

A fascinating piece of writing, full of different threads and different types of writing. Very cleverly done, and educational too. Thank you for sharing this.
