I truly enjoyed this. It is a wonderful haiku in sight and sound. Rain in a metal roof forms it's own melody.
Good job! I have listened to such a symphony on such a roof.
Best wishes

Now, you're just showing off! hahaha Is there any poetry you have not done yet? Limericks perhaps?
That picture is so evocative. So very perfect. But that looked like considerably more than drizzle. Deluge comes to mind. Good poetry combo.

Gypsy,
A very nice overall presentation for this post. I like the poor man's free concert.
While 'plays' is certainly OK, I like the idea of being more onomatopoetic with 'tamps' or 'drums'. Consider alternative verb for your poem.

HEY, some spring drizzles on the roof are better than some symphonies I've been too. LOL Thank you for sharing this beautiful poem with us. I enjoyed reading and am off to read more. I see you name often in my PM box. That makes me happy.

This was a great modern haiku, Gypsy. I absolutely loved the picture of a rain sodden roof. Your chose of words were delightful in that they showed an example of the poor man's symphony. Great job. Blessed Be n Hugs!!!

This is a great poem to read aloud. You can hear the patter of the sound on the roof-a sound I love. The metaphor of poor man's night at the symphony is excellent.

What a neat way to view the rain. I listen to a track each night that is low rumbling thunder and pouring rain. Relaxes me. I love how you look at it from such a unique angle. Thank you for sharing. Gretchen

I love the sound of rain on the roof at night. That's such a comforting sound. I like that you call it the "poor man's
night at the symphony" because even if one is poor, one can still enjoy nature's music!

I love this one! This indeed is a symphony to look at, to read, I can hear the music and I am yelling, "encore!"
As a child, of course there was no air conditioning. I loved the sound of the rain on the roof, especially as we had windows open all Summer long.
Now we go from the air to almost the furnace, as it changes so fast. There may be a few short days a year that windows are open, so the odds are not good to relive those days of nostalgia, especially with the rain..
Oh how I long for that.... Thank you Gypsy for taking back to my childhood bedroom again to let me hear the beautiful symphony!
