Aw. beautiful tanka Gypsy! It's been a while since I've written one but your notes brought me back to what I once learned. That third line especially. I was taught it's supposed to be both the haiku satori and the pivot line for the next 2 lines of 7 (or whichever).
Your notes go into it a bit deeper than what I studied with Alvin but that's a good thing. I love this and must find time to read and write more. Japanese poetic forms.
Take care

Hi MariVal,
firstly let me apologise for my on and off reviewing... I went back trying to find one of your most beautiful poems... a tanka I believe. One about the sun and moon always chasing each other, but never being able to connect. I read it, and never had the opportunity to review it... It stirred my soul had me lingering in mid-air in contemplation.
A heaviness of being, lightens within gratitude... tapping into the energy of our essence is our horizon. Our balance is our focused connection to our experience. It allows our landscape to have a more expanded panoramic view... a oneness with the vista of our existence.
I love how you tap into your emotions and create such beautiful lingering thoughts.
You are a very talented wordsmith Reina Lobo Gitana. Strength comes in all sorts of amazing heightened senses... you my sweet woman have all on full beam.
Need I say it?
Your presentation and composition is as impeccable as ever.
With our thoughts we create...
a stable range of vision.
I love that you chose to include Helen's quote with your notes... she is a wise and insightful person.
Warm regards,
James.

You, Helen, and karenina are my favorite reviewers. You are all so insightful and eloquent with your words
James, it feels like you can get into my mind and soul and know exactly what I meant. Thank you for that. You are so kind to me, kinder than I an to myself.
I really appreciate that you are going through my poems and reviewing so many at once. Thank you.
Besitos y abrazos

Love the quote Unknown!
Thank you for the very lovely comments. It seems we are attracted to like.
And I still love the words I have permanently on my skin:
Pain and suffering are inevitable, misery is optional-Lou Gehrig.

You're the Queen of Japanese poetry and the Queen of beautiful presentation.
I loved the last two lines and the whole sentence in the notes. When you say Helen, do you mean leynocha?
Thanks for sharing.

Once my husband is ready, he takes a lot longer than me, we will leave for the gulf and visit with our son. I can't wait to walk along the shore and just breathe. Thank you for sharing your beautiful package with us.

I especially like this one. It's awesome thinking of being balanced on the horizon. The details of feet covered in sand bring the poem back to what we feel.

Yep, sometimes creation sends out a message that we can't depend on what we see, we will sometimes think we're alone in the universe, that's belief is no natural, blessings Roy

What a great tanka, Gypsy and a fantastic quote from Helen. The dual pictures representing the boardwalk into the horizon and the seashell at the end. They both seem to gather sand around them. Very well done and greatly enjoyed. Blessed Be n Hugs!!!
