Hi Sally,
It's not the way I pictured things happening. I thought as soon as Fee was safely on the ground outside, he'd beat the feet instead of waiting for Sally to get out. Why didn't he make a run for it?

This would make quite a scene in a movie, Sally...
"Rising above the inferno was Patience, with Matthew Hargrave in her arms. She touched down on the lawn and began ministering to the wide-eyed elderly man, then hurried to Sally's side.
"My precious wife," Jackson sobbed. "She's gone."
"Let me have her," said the angel. Bending down, she covered the detective with her great wings and breathed back into her the breath of life."

Another surprise was the transformation of Fitzgerald Edward Elling during court proceedings, pleading guilty to all charges against him. But after all, he had seen the angel, Patience, save Sally and probably Matthew Hargrave, too. He still has to pay for his crimes. He's admitted to being guilty-as-charged. But he is a new creature. Behold, all things are passed away. All things are become new. He has obviously had a change of heart. It goes to show you, it's never too late to come to Christ, to make your peace with the One Who loves you, and died for you. Don Francisco wrote these words in one of his songs, "There is no condemnation when the Son has set you free."
**********************************************************
"Everyone I'd longed to see were sitting together" ... (not absolutely positive, but I'm thinking "everyone" is a singular pronoun requiring a singular verb,
(Everyone I'd longed to see was sitting together)

Always the perfectionist, I draw your attention to the spelling of "like". I'm thinking you used a capital "I" rather than an "l". They look the same, don't they? But compare your "l" in "like" with your "l" in "last" in this sentence,
"Just Iike a woman, she got in the last word." (I used to be a miner. LOL.)

"Sheriff, if you would escort Mr. Elling out at (the) time." ... (Sally, should this be,
"Sheriff, if you would escort Mr. Elling out at this time." )

Nice finishing touch, Sally!
Hugs,
Kimbob

I'm glad Elling got what he had coming, even if he had changed. I don't think guys like that really do. The new and improved version wouldn't last long. How did the fire start? Was it the old man? Even if it was, I'm glad he got out.

Absolutely wonderful writing and plotting. Everyone was obedient and stayed in character. Which, at times, they are all bound not to cooperate at one time or another to the way we think they should act or say. I know I'm getting in late with reading this story line, but I did enjoy what I did get to read. You are amazing. Absolutely. God bless, Loren

Fitzgerald Elling is a liitle too evil to be sympathised with Sally. It's a little sad that this particular mystery is over my friends, I think that Fee was a great invention, and your characters fit the stories so well, the hero's are great and the plat wonderland, well done, blessings Roy

Fee's transformation was unexpected but a good way to end the book. He isn't falsely claiming repentance in order to get a lesser sentence but his genuine conversion is evidenced as weell by the letters of remorse he wrote. Well written, Sally. An accomplishment to be proud of.

A beautifully written final chapter Sally. Though it's sad to see the end of the Aspen Grove book you've ended it in a loving way, which seems to me, is your way.
Well done Sally and look after yourself.
cheers,

I hate to see this story end. My prayers are with you.

"Your wife saved me by helping me out of the upper window. She was supposed to follow, and turned back," (period after back.")

OMGosh, Bravo! YAY! Wonderful! Earth Shattering! Amazing!! Wonderful!
I was so disappointed that this was the finale, but the way this played out, I find such peace with it. I don't feel sad that it is over, (yet I know Monday's will never be the same) but this ending was so remarkably well done, that I just feel no anger anymore for Fee, I feel all is well in Aspen Grove and it is the most amazing ending I could have imagined. How genius of you to redeem who we thought was unredeemable. Only God knows I guess. And you gave people a little hope to how redemption can be so satisfying. It is positively the best ever ending..... I loved it!
You are brilliant!!

And all I can say now is: I will enjoy your beautiful poetry as you have more time to think about what's your next subject, next line, and what magic you can enchant us with. I know you will do what you can and that is all you can do. But what a piece of work this one was! I am so proud of you, my dear sweet friend! So very Proud!!!!!

Time for you to take a bow, dear Sally! This is only your curtain call for this one, but you deserve the screams I am hearing, of Bravo, Encore, More, We Love You our Brave Detective!
And Please take pride in a job well done! I am so happy that I got to be with you every step of the way. Thank you for making it easy to be: Your Biggest Fan!!
Love, Debi

Only an author as full of love as you are could write such a Finale.

Though many readers were favoring a horrid end for evil Fee, the Blind Detective saves him, then looks for the old man in the wheelchair despite the smoke and flames. Jack finds her and carries her out, while Tommy prays for help from Patience, who rescues Matthew Hargrave before flames engulf his house.

You truly brought your loyal readers to the peak of emotion with "My precious wife," Jackson sobbed. "She's gone." Then, even Fee was awed by seeing Patience restore her breath of life.

I like that Tommy and Willa had named their daughter Sally Mae.

The dramatic change in Fee's outlook is rare but clearly sincere, as he pleads guilty on all charges and requests maximum sentences to save the county the cost of a trial and his victims from reliving their anguish. Beyond that, he had written honestly repentant letters to each one still alive, most notably both to Sally for saving his life and enabling him to see life in better light, and to his son, Simon, who wept over it.

If this book sells well (as it should), you may bring more readers to the wisdom of accepting the ways of the Lord than many ordained ministers.

Superb, and aptly illustrated with a leopard whose spots may be changing.

You are most welcome, Sal. Yes, only you write this way, and I did love every last morsel. I remain delighted to be blessed with the skill to catch the errors introduced by your speech-to-text device.

I am impressed by how well you converted your readers' hate of Fee to forgiveness, as the memory of this chapter will make a difference in our own lives when it matters most. The Lord will bless you for this.

Also, I'm sure Jack bestowed many hugs upon you after reading this Finale.

Now we all are looking forward to the epilogue. :))))) -- Mike
