The German word "wandern" has many meanings, and here we cannot help but see as a never-ending sorrowful circular motion, regardless of the desires that motivate it.

Hi Gypsy Queen,
I found it!

I'm not sure if it's because of your reference to 'wanderlust', but I feel this Tanka doesn't end... it's like it's on a continuous journey of never being able to connect... How clever of you!

The visual delight painted so deftly within your words held me firmly within its grip.

The way it could be adapted to two humans that were out of sync with each others timing, or that in sync, that it was destined to always be a chase. Hmmmm, sadly beautiful at the very same time.

Stunning!

With our thoughts we create...
an endless journey.

Warm regards,
James.

This poem caused me to smile. I am a morning person. I like to be just a predawn and watch nature wake up. My husband is not a morning person and doesn't go to bed until the wee hours of the morning, so doesn't get up until a little past noon. But somehow, we make it work. LOL Your poem was beautiful.

That's why the moon and the sun can never be friends. They represent opposites. This was a fantasy style of poem. Personifying the sunrise and sunset. Great job. Gretchen

That's such a cool description to show the way some relationships just don't work out because the individuals are so different and wander a different path in life!

This is a lovely tanka poem Gypsy about the sunset godess never destined to meet her sunrise god. A beautiful presentation and a creatively personal one too of sunset and sunrise. Loved it, cheers
