This is another excellent chapter. My Aunt Ida used to say, "God works in mysterious ways."This chapter makes me see that "God works in mysterious ways."I do not see any room for improvement. Have a blessed way.

Thank you for your kind review.

It looks like the Lord is using him on the ship already. It didn't take long for the job of chaplain to be added to his other duties. I'm continued to be interested in what may happen next to Betn.

Thank you so much for your great review. And for the six stars!

You caught the rhythm of an angry sea with your writing, Wayne. You conveyed the pitch and yaw of the ship even while the captain was making Ben a Chaplin.
"It was like running on the backs of buffalo - with hundred-mile-an-hour winds trying to throw you under their stampeding hooves." [STUNNING!]

Ben, up in the rigging during a storm, must have been terrified. That would be a hard place to trust in God, but somehow he did. Being promoted was helpful, but having the right words to help the sailors have faith was the most important thing he did.

Wow, now that is some mission! I don't know about being enslaved by pirates but it seems that Ben is fully capable of using a bad situation to preach the Good News through God orchestrating everything!

Thank you.
Yes, I wish I was Ben.

This was an interesting chapter. The storm with all its potential dangers was excitingly written.
Ben hasn't quite figured out yet what his purpose is in this situation. Perhaps it's nothing more than to be the chaplain and try to bring some comfort to these miserable sailors, especially the slaves like himself, but I have a feeling it will be more than that.

You had Ben ask Hans twice why the sails were set at night. It seems like the second time wasn't necessary.

Thank you for your kind support.
I thought about that 2nd ask when I reread it just before posting. I need to edit it again. Thank you.

I love the parallel between the harshness of the storm and the calmness and hope that God's word brings to the survivals, because is not your will but His that puts you on the path. Thank you for sharing and good luck with your writings

Wayne, I think I'm missing something again. Ben has obviously now been taken captive and is heroically being strengthened by his faith during that quite nightmarish experience of single-handedly bringing the sails down. Despite the challenges from the crew, he has commanded their respect by his succinct and welcome prayer as their new chaplain. Love the humour attached to the captain's pronunciation of OS! Your writing skills are excellent here, Wayne, as you convey yet another scene of intense drama and faith-inspired message. Well done! Debbie

Ahh we were only talking about Balaam's donkey being able to speak as the Holy Spirit used that donkey reminds me of me, Lord if you can speak through a donkey, I must be easy for you to use me! The movements of our man of God Ben, is amazing, and a good witness for me personally, beautifully written, blessings Roy

Ben's sermon topic was an excellent choice, and it is good that they will all be looking to him for spiritual guidance, and they will be watching to see that his life supports his words. Nicely written. Wendy
