Ciao !

Nurse Ratched was a bitch. She hated men and she took pleasure in dominating the male patients in her ward. It was like being in jail and she was the one who set the rules.

Poor Billy killed himself because of her threats to tell his mother (another domineering bitch ) about his misbehaviour.

And with her damning report, she made it so that McMurphy was lobotomised.

I believe in karma and our bad actions will come back and we will be punished duly.

Suffering from dementia is too good for her...she wouldn't realise she was being mistreated.

She deserved to end up in a cheap, shitty aged care facility when old and unable to care for herself.

The golden rule is :you should treat others the way you want to be treated yourself.

Going round in circles it sounds like to me . This poet has the aforesight to see I to the future. A whole lifetime in a those three short verses. Very clever. At least, that's how I see it.

I laugh as I have seen this situation in my professional capacity as a physician. Very well written. Clearly expressed. Fantastic haiku poetry. Well done. JT

We need patience with children as we do with the elderly, both are vulnerable and need kind carers, a poignant write here in your Haiku poetry, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

I absolutely loved Nurse Ratched getting her comeuppance in "One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest." If you watch "Ratched "on Netflix, it might explain how she got that way. I liked the blending of picture and poem.

Right now, in my assisted living situation, I do not have Netflix, and am a bit glad, because a woman living down the hall had someone with Netflix interfering with her tv. It sounds like something I would have great interest in!

I , myself live in an In Town suites handicapped suite. A fancy name for a small room. It has a two burner stove, bathroom, with a large tub for my shower chair, bed, tiny table with two small hard chairs. I have a roku on my tv. I have a laptop and that is my life. I cannot sit or walk much, but my life is full. with, reading, tv, and the computer, I stay busy. With apartments costing so much, this was cheaper.

Sounds so much like me! I am blessed, though, because when my wife died, I wasn't sure if I would survive, so my niece took over Power of Attorney and helps me to have everything I need
    9other than my wife).

This is part of why I live here. I get maid service once a week. All utilities paid. Free tv and wifi. I rarely use Direct tv. I attached my Roku. With Carol my sister-in- law coming by two or three times a month to get me out to run errands and pick up my laundry, My books, I am a voracious reader, roku, and my computer and I able to fill my days. FanStory has been the biggest boon yet. I have made friends here. They give me lots of advice. I don't take it all, but it helps me see how others filter my writing. We grow. Whether or not we get published is not my main goal anymore. I am still getting better. You will to. Karen

You are so much like me!!I needed to do more than just sit and watch tv. My niece encouraged my writing. At the end of last year till July, I was in one infection after another with many hospital and rehab stays. During that period, I heard of a locsl playhouse holding a Playwright competition. Despite my illness, God allowed me to complete and enter a full-length play. I'll know in September if they accept it. I already feel victorious, just writing it!

I have always written poems and short stories. everyone told me they were good, but I had no confidence. My kids encouraged me to use the internet to get them published.
I sent about two dozen out into the ether. I have had six turndowns so far, but I may not hear back from some for a year. The ones that turned me down, said they enjoyed reading it, but said it wasn't right for this issue. Some even gave me a list of places they might think would publish me.
I got published in two places, no money though. I have learned more from these 5 days than I have in my whole writing life. I will never submit another story before having you guys give it a once over.
    Keep writing.
    Karen

At the end of last year till shortly before this, I had a series of infections, hospital, and rehab stays. I heard of a theater seeking plays for a competition, so in the midst of it all, I wrote a full length play. Will know in Sept. if they accept it.

I love this, it's a great entry in this haiku suite contest, it's a marvellous thing to see this one. A serous post, yes indeed, there is no rhyme or reason for life to be so unfair, and it is, but then life doesn't really care. Beautifully written, good luck, blessings Roy
