Hi Sally,
Well, the escape didn't go quite as smoothly as Fee thought it might. But he did get away. At least, he got into the sewage drain. But he's already sicker than he thought he'd be. And, he came across a rotting corpse!!! Holy Cow! Who's that, I wonder? A bit of a subtle hint at the end of the chapter...
{The only ones that were not present at the time were Detective Sally Law and King.
"Jackson, where's Sally?" I asked.
"She left about a half-hour ago to walk King." } ... I have a feeling Fee isn't going to get away. He's going to run into Sally & King, isn't he? I was hoping he'd disappear. (Sorry, but I always hope for the underdog.)
The sheriff and Army nurse both seemed a little lackadaisical. Tommy and Sally would not be pleased with either of them.
One thing I noticed though... isn't Lou Crenshaw supposed to be waiting for Fee in a blue Volvo? But he's been with the sheriff for over an hour. Would it take that long to crawl through the drain?
Let's see what Chapter 40 has to offer. I'm betting King will halt Fee's escape.
Nicely penned!
Hugs,
Kimbob

Sally, I'm glad you dropped the demons out of your story.
Your chapter has an excellent balance of dialogue and description, both of which set a nice pace your story
I like. The way you lead up to the escape. Very nice legal slant.
Good luck with this chapter, Sally.
Hugs,friend,
Cindy

Good descriptions of the effect the mustard spread had on Fee and those around him. LOL The drama continues for Detective Sally and King. Another great chapter Sally.

The excape seems like it went well. Since it was mentioned earlier that he try to escape, I would have expected they would be watching closely. I"m looking forward to seeing how far fitsgerald. I hope the blind lady is okay.

Well, it was just my luck as to be traveling and miss the first 12 chapters of your newest story. And since I didn't have time to go back and catch up, I've just been waiting for what comes next. But don't think for a minute that I haven't missed reading your story. Thanks for sharing.

Oh no! We don't want Elling anywhere near Sally! She got shot once by a criminal when she was out walking King alone!
Anyway, I guess it's good that the mustard worked too well as Elling is really fit for the sewer now. He seems pretty strong for someone who is used to a life of luxury. Crenshaw should have realized he can never trust a criminal!
