This was the most moving chapter so far, and that's saying a lot. The way you saved your little daughter's life was nothing short of miraculous, and showed a very tender heart. In a way, I think it helped form a bond, or strengthen it, anyway.

It's funny how your baby's birthdays fell on such auspicious days!

I'm sure raising kids was not always a walk in the park, but such love as binds you together is abundantly evident.

Take care,
Rhonda

Thanks so much Rhonda for saving and then reviewing with a gold cross. Appreciate what you said. Malissa lives in MO but I stay in touch. She recently told her mother that growing up, she remembers finally feeling safe after we got married with so much that happened to her little mind.

Oh wow. To remember from such a young age speaks to your influence on them.

I have found it good advice to always let family member know I love them because, as you said, we are never promised tomorrow. I also make sure my friend know I care about them. This is a wonderful addition to your previous writings.

Oh, Im do enjoying your true story, Forest! Our children were born in the earlier 80s too, so they're probably the same ages. We have three sons four year apart. Our only girls is our daughter-in-law and granddaughter, Sophia. We lost a granddaughter to birth trauma in 2013. We have three teenage grandsons, two are fraternal twins.

Children are a tremendous blessing and so is a loving spouse. Both you and Mary are blessed. Thank you for sharing.
Sending you all my very best,
Sal XOs

Thanks so much Sally. She remembers important details. I'm always leaning on her to make sure I'm truth telling and not taking dramitic license. The trick is, I'm not telling her until I surprise her with out story for our 40th anniversary December 31st. I appreciate knowing the ways you identify with it in your own family and reading your notes on it.

Aw, how sweet! Our 48th is December 13th. She will love this book. Are you self publishing? Blessings, Sal :))

Likely will. But I will use Deep River books where I won free publishing contest ten years ago.

This is a wonderful story you are writing about your life and family. You seem to be a very loving Dad and I think Mary was the perfect mate for you. I hope your mother finally realized that you were nothing like you Dad.

It took many years, but yes she did, and near the end of the book I touch on how she finally understood that I wasn't the same. Toward the end she became my biggest fan as an author before she passed away. Thanks so much Beth.

I love this, the greatest gift we can have is the birth of a small being of our very own flesh is a child, whatever sex, I have two girls, they are twin apples, but in nature, opposites, not in kindness, but the elder one outgoing and delightful, the other introverted and likes her own company, but both feisty, Rebecca would play with the child no one else would, she's like that today, and they are each other's best friends, and I'm so proud of them. Beautifully written Stan, blessings Roy,
PS, My brother was born Christmas Day.

Wow! I loved that Malissa considered YOU the best Christmas gift. And whew! Glad you caught her before she flew out the window. So many kids die that way. And what a blessing that you had a baby boy on Christmas! So many gifts!!

Side comment about the Hebrew:
I know it varies but "Nathan" just means "He gave" but Nathaniel/Nathanael means Gift of God.

Your correct about the short name Nathan. We did name him Nathaniel on his birth certificate. He became a top notch mechanic in upstate NY and has saved us thousands of dollars in car repairs over the years. He continues to give. Makes me proud. And funny thing about the screen, I think I recalled hearing stories warning parents of the dangers, and then there I was within a moment of damaging her young life with our window open and flimsy screen.

It's a miracle you caught her in time! So many unpredictable and fast actions by little ones can lead to tragedy!

;'I was taught early on in church, before you leave your family, tell them you love them. No one can be guaranteed tomorrow. I also loved a song I heard called, "Love is something you do, not just something you say." "I think these lines here have set up the tone of your chapter, I like the happy ending. Thank you for sharing and good luck with your writings.

Thanks so much. It's been enjoyable being able to write from the hip, so to speak where I just need to remember the significant points.

This is a very heartwarming story, and I enjoyed it so very much. I have a daughter who was born on Christmas day. She is special to me so very special and I live with her now as she cares for me with great care. I'm also glad that you got a little girl on Valentine's Day. That's wonderful. Patricia.
