Well, that's the end of Diamond Jim, I guess. Ben can certainly do surprising stunts. I really liked the quoting of the Beatitudes - a passage being studied at the church we've started to attend here.
I keep wondering how Ben will get his lost luggage because it probably it has the funds he needs.

I use italics to distinguish capsulizing the last part, but in bold print, the difference is harder to see. I'll experiment.
I tried to demonstrate that 'foxhole conversions' often don't take, and also that sometimes a person has only one opportunity.

Somehow, I didn't expect Ben to kill off Diamond Jim, but it was a slick way to get rid of a bad bad man. Ben's method of preaching was certainly a way of luring Jim out. You mention grabbing the lapels of Ben's shirt, but shirts don't have lapels.

For a minute I thought Big Diamond Jim was going to be converted. But that was probably never going to happen with his attitudes. So I guess, Ben is off to some more and different adventures?

It seems God told Ben it was time to move on. I was surprised that Diamond Jim was run over by the wagon that was pulled by the stampeeding horses. I guess an new adventure await Ben at a new location.

Diamond Jim thugs yanked Ben off the train, tied him up and beat him. He escaped with the help of Tony and Angelo.

Not knowing more about the story I'm curious. Is Ben helping people who were gamblers? Is Ben a past gambler? I have to fan you although I thought I had already. I like your stories and partially the dialogues, but I don't see them enough. Excellent writing here! Best wishes!

Ben is a young man with a calling to simply follow God's leading. He started on a wagon train from graduating from Bible College. His ministry was in Colorado until he went to Chicago. Now he's headed to San Francisco.
