Very humorous poem - a fun one that all children will love because it is gross and funny - and true to character. It's written with fine rhyme and smooth flow. Sending best wishes for your entry.

Thanks very much, Wendy. I tried to write something that would appeal to kids rather than adults.

Mmm. Nice! I feel a bit sick now. I think, however, this is the right tone for kids' literature, with jaunty rhyme and rhythm and something silly to say. I mean deadly serious, sorry.

Oh, goodness. And I tried so hard for a serious message with an important environmental lesson too!

I could tell.

This is a great stream of kiddie consciousness that may well go on in their little heads! I was a bit worried when you started talking about the sleech eating the brain though I maybe being a little too sensitive here. The story reads fluently with lovely rhythm and rhyme and your ending is perfect. Well done and good luck! Debbie

Thank you, Debbie. Yes, might be scary for a 3-year-old. Hopefully 5 years and up would be amused.

wow! This reminded me of my daughter. It's funny. Some kids take after their parents, but where did she pick up that habit? I wonder! Seriously, though it's hard to comment on this whimsical poem with seriousness, I loved your approach to this competition!

Yuck! But kids should love this as the nose seems to be where so many of them go. Love how the child figures out what isn't and is acceptable and opts for recycling using the dog as the scapegoat. LOL
Best of luck in the contest.

Heh heh, a fabulous write, it's some dilemma that besets most I guess, (not me of course, nor my mum) this is beautifully written, the clever language, the excellent flow and the rhyming make this a darn good entry in this contest, well done, good luck, blessings Roy

When I was a kid, I took a tour of the White House in Washington, D.C. I remember picking my nose, and with no hanky in my pocket, I wiped it on a curtain hanging in one of the rooms! I wonder if it's still there?
Thanks for your wonderful review and the 6 stars, Roy!
