Just beautiful Barbara. You brought a smile to my face. Correct me if I am wrong but, "....Grandpa and me." Perhaps this should read Grandpa and I?

This is so beautiful! Thank you for sharing your letters and all of these special family moments, like the girls calling their lawyer. It melts my heart. I am a grandmother but God only knows when I will see Eleni and Elias. I only met them a few times. You are blessed and you are a great blessing to those precious girls. Aw, isn't this just too sweet. I can so identify with this as my three granddaughters live more than 2000 miles away. I see them a couple of times a year also. I'm glad you may be going up to Missouri to babysit. Ulla:)))

Thanks for sharing the artwork, notes, and letter, barbara. I enjoyed reading them. That was an interesting tradition you started years ago. I wonder how you felt about your son's choices. Eleanor definitely likes popcorn! I liked this letter because it had a nice personal touch as you tell them about keeping in touch with their parents and being able to share face time with both of them, and sharing the love you have for them, as well. The notes were priceless, and I like your idea of making the letter personal for each girl. Have a safe trip to St.Louis if you end up going there.

What fun to be a babysitter. We have had our just-turned-eight granddaughter three days a week all summer as they could not find childcare, and we get her two-year-old brother all next week. This sums up the grandparents' role, I guess. You are always there for them, no matter what, no matter how far away. It's like being a parent without the pain. But I suppose the worry is still there. I like how describe yourself the lawyer for your grandkids. estory
