Ha ha ha, you made me smile here Debra, the fashions change and when we look back we wonder what we doing! I daughter had a short spiky hair it like I did and she looks back and blames me for ruining her image! Ha ha ha, A well put together Minute poem Debra, good metre and and rhyme and it is also amusing, love Dolly x

This minute poem, I Smile and Reminisce, has the proper formatting and allows a look back at a snapshot of a bad hair day gone unaware to busy kids playing.

A minute poem that brings me back! I swear if I pulled out my old photo album I'd find an almost identical photo...

What were they thinking to give us all such a haircut? I always felt like we had cereal bowls on our heads!

And I haven't changed much in the last forty years either....

(And if you believe that I have a bridge you might want to buy...)

LOL.

Oh, my! You're the cutest one of the bunch. I spotted you when I magnified the photo and zoomed in. No, you have hardly changed.

Neither have I, just more laugh lines....

Sending you my best today as always, dear Debra, and best wishes for the upcoming minute poetry contest.

Love this poetic form, Debra, and your poem, and the picture! It's purr-fect for the Minute Poetry contest, and I wish you lots of luck.
When I was a kid, I never combed my hair, and I had lots of it! It wasn't until I fell in love for the first time... Marjorie Wasson... oh, those long blond braided pigtails! But when I started combing my locks, she didn't recognize me! She had to ask her friend who I was! Imagine!
Your rhymes are great, and I love "the pudding basin style!"
I can't wait until this generation looks back on their purple, pink, or emerald green hair... and the jeans that are torn from top to bottom! I think every generation wants to be unique.
Hugs,
Kimbob

What a beautiful poem! I was drawn to the photo and the message it conveys. The essence of childhood remains unchanged over time; it resides within us and endures. It's always a joy to reminisce about the past and appreciate those cherished memories.
The heartfelt words in the poem were a pleasure to read.

My children still complain about those haircuts all these years later. I did the cutting so they blame me. Little did they know how fashionable they were. You have chosen a cute subject for the minute poetry contest. Best of luck.

When I look back at pictures of me when I was in high school in the 1950s I had a very full head of hair. My hair now it is very thin and I lose hair almost every day in my hairbrush so one of these days I might be able to just start my hair with a washcloth. I enjoyed your minute pull them, and I wish you the best in the contest. Patricia.
