Your poem made me smile at how it ended. I found myself wondering where you were going with the poem as I followed through, open then closed, light and then dark. I like the way you describe blinking with different comparisons.

Funny where the mind goes, isn't it. We start with the trivial thing, a blink, and follow it in some sort of obsession, trying to make sense of it. I'm sure researchers somewhere have solved the blink, but your analysis is more fun!
