Beth.
I found this chapter quite interesting. Your family of kids definitely have their own personalities and traits.
Don the dare Devil. I was like that at the same age. I had to try every sport or activity (except having to do with guns).
Good chapter.

Thank you John, Don was never interested in guns although my husband had grown up as a hunter. Evan had many guns, but by the time Don came along he wasn't interested in hunting and never got Don interested either. I was thankful for that.

Poor Carol having such so many deaths happening around her! Not worth all the donuts in the world.
Good for Don's successful year. I guess he did the gymnastics later?
Comments - you may have already fixed:
to go to a collage in Texas, (college)
Carman had come (Carmen?) I've never seen that other spelling
Crispy Cream Doughnuts (Krispy Kreme)
sake of their graduate. (graduate is in different fonts)

Thank you, Helen. Yes, that was a bit much for Carol to deal with at the time. Thanks for the heads up with the spags. I hadn't fixed Carmen's name.

An interesting and an enjoyable read of your children's teenage school years.Don, in particular sounds like a normal teenage boy. I have to admit those sporting events are frightening, but you are letting him makes his own decisions. Smart mom
Best wishes
Mary.

Thank you Mary. After I let him go so far away, I didn't have a choice but let him make his own decisions. It worked out pretty well.

Sounds like Don was a typical boy and loved to move. While I have never rappelled, I have been spelunking. Once. We didn't even have flashlights; we used candles. And I did a zipline. That I would do again.
And you gotta love brothers and their nicknames. My middle name is Elizabeth, and my parents called me Lizzi. My brother called me Lizard.
Carol sounds like the creative sort. Does she still draw and paint? Chrisi sounds like she found her niche. It sure does sound like they kept you hopping.
Suggestions to consider:
'They involved rapelling off of mountains... ' I believe rappelling has two 'p's.
In the paragraph which begins, 'Carol was a senior and she did well in her classes,' there are several sentences beginning with 'she'. I suggest switching up the sentence structure of a sentence or two so it flows better.
They do December graduations now. Or maybe it's in January. I do know they do half-year ones. Thank you for sharing, Beth.

I enjoy reading your memoirs. I know I've said it before but I'm sure your children and grandchildren will enjoy reading them. I know the school year is very hectic. I remember it well with my boys.

You are doing such a great job on this. You must have kept some good notes when your children were going through this period in their lives. I wish I had spent some time when mine were that age, writing down the experiences they had. Now they call me with questions, that I can't seem to remember exactly what happened.

You are welcome, Beth. It is amazing how, as we start to think about the past, memories keep coming to us.

Hi Beth, I love the way you tied all the kids together in this chapter. Lots of good stories here.
Poor Carol and all the death experiences she had at such a young age. How crazy!
Funny about Connie and her name. She was so adventurous!
Looks like Don had some pretty adventurous days as well, but way too scary!
Thanks for sharing your story,
Rhonda

Growing up isn't easy for most young people, but amazingly, most learn to overcome the negatives and cope with what's to come in the future. Thanks for sharing.

Hi, I guess I must have missed this although I have been away a lot of the time in more recent months. This was an interesting read and I am glad it turned up. No spags.

With your artistic skills it's bound to be inherited by one of your children and carry on through the generations my friend, In fascinated by what you're finding out about your kids, I only had the two, but they had really diverse skills from one another, beautifully written Beth, blessings Roy

All four of my children got some artistic talent and all four got musical talent but they got that from the dad. He was the one with the beautiful voice. My grandchilden seem to have both talents as well.
