I thoroughly enjoyed reading this poem.
The rhyming scheme is so pleasant and the rhymes do not feel
forced and so the poem flows effortlessly along to its optimistic conclusion.
The imagery is strong and the reader feels as though they are watching a person observing their Grandpa's evening routine. The writer has a wonderful way with words. Nice. Thank you for sharing.

Your grandfather was blessed! As St. Paul said to Timothy, "godliness with contentment is great gain" and your described that well. I liked how you described even the finger movements in his slumbering states in your well written sonnet!

This is a fine rhyming sonnet which flows as smoothly as that rocking chair and captures not only the character of this lovely contented man but also the love and respect that the narrator seems to have had for him. A magic read. Well done and good luck! Debbie

Very well-constructed sonnet, with solid rhymes and a perfect iambic pentameter. The subject matter makes the read a calming one to the end. The reader can feel the contentment and the overall mood in the verses. The only formatting issue is the lack of extra space between stanzas. I had a hard time doing that in the basic editor, but you might want to try that.

Thank you very much, Mario, for sharing and praising my poem. I tried to put space between my stanzas with both Basic and Advanced editor. Neither allowed me to for this posting. I?ve had success before.

This was a great poem. It reminded me of my childhood days when my grandparents sat on the porch after dinner. My grandpa would smoke a cigar amongst the silence. Great memories! I really enjoyed it.
