Very beautiful presentation and I love the red, and the reference to blood and poppies both on the field. That is true that we see wars actually filing Fields with red, as poppies do. Exceptional writing but I only had five stars. Love Alexan

That's a sad reality. It's like that old folksong "where have all the flowers gone..." Eventually, all the soldiers are gone to flowers. Your poem also alludes to the McCrae poem, "In Flanders Field."

Thank you for your service. I never smelled death... I don't want to. I believe it would be horrible and unforgettable. Thank you very much, Ap. I appreciate your excellent review. May you have a wonderful weekend.

What a perfect package! I enjoyed the poppy fields while we lived in Germany. Thank you for sharing this with us. I enjoyed reading. It causes me to wonder when governments will realize how horrible war is.

We have many fields of red poppies in Spain. Now I live in Southern California, usually the poppies are yellow or orange.
Thank you very much, Barbara. I appreciate your excellent review. May you have a wonderful weekend.

This is gorgeous, Marival. It reminds me of In Flanders Fields, which is one of my favourite poems.
Poppies also remind me of my childhood. I know they can be related to war and blood, but for me they are one of the most beautiful wild flowers ever, even though they are so ephemeral.
Thanks so much for sharing. Muchos besos desde Madrid.

Excellent haiku Gypsy. Heartfelt and powerful. The poppy and the blood red reminder gives one pause.
Each word in you haiku gives the reader a vivid picture of the "War Ravaged Field"
Well done. Sorry I am out of sixes. This is so deserving.
Blessings
