Gypsy, I can review this poem in one word, "deep." Your poem is filled with high sensory appeal. Of special note:
it was the last petal
of the opened rose
(Just like the "first cut is the deepest," so is the last fallen petal.)
Great presentation. Well done. Keep the blue waters flowing. Xo. M

My immediate thought as I got to the end of this poem was of pain, hard pain. Thank you for sharing this complete package with us. You remain the reigning queen now of poetry, not just Haiku.

This was great, Gypsy. I loved the pictures, the way they were showed that they were not tears but the actual petals of the purple rose. Very well done and greatly enjoyed. Blessed Be n Hugs!!!

Sad but very creative way of expressing that feeling. You need a forever love and predictable rose that always ends positively. You also deserve that. Beautiful writing and presentation as always!

I love this because of the image it creates. The drama or aftermath as it were were enveloped in the whole thing. Thos was a scene that played out before me. Great imagery and emotion. Gretchen

I like your free verse poem - Beautiful picture presentation - poem flows well - almost a Senryu lol - the poem goes nicely with the picture - I particularly like the brevity - expressing your story nicely, and to the point in a clear picture - without verbosity - so nice - very clever ending - the last pedal- tears of joy? He Loves me! What else could it be? Good Job - more like this!! Hug AP

Look at you, noticing is like a senryu. LoL
It's a modern haiku but it's over 17 syllables so I call it 'free verse' which is not a lie, almost all Japanese poetry are free verse.
Thank you, AP, I appreciate your time and review.

What!!! Haiku is free verse????? Why wasn?t I informed???? Lol Hug

I guess holding on to the very last petal also tells a tale of grief. It shows that there wasn't movement to embrace a fresh new blooming that makes it even sadder like the picture.

Thank you, Big Sister. It's a zen concept, reflecting the woman's grief with the rose's grief at the face of extinction. Is it too much? LoL I appreciate your time and review.

It is always kind of a sad time to see that last pedal drop from the rose that you have been given by loved one. I appreciate this poem very much for the salt is in it. Have a good day. God bless.
