Ben seems to have an even more successful mission now that he did before he was injured so badly. I'm glad you let God heal him and bring him back. This is good.

Wonnderful release of all those women, being offered a new start with safety and security. An excellent lead-in to the new role of Billy Sunday. I remember Spalding tennis racquets. And it is pleasing that Ben remains cautious and prayerful so he does not move away from God's will. Very well written.

Thank you. I found it interesting that Moody, Billy Sunday, Spalding, Rawlings (sports equipt), and Marshal Fields were all in Chicago at the same time as my story.

So Billy Sunday is about to get God's calling and to preach in Mr. Spalding's church. I think Tony is about to receive his calling from within the White Stocking organization as a very knowledgeable afficianado with a season ticket. God indeed works in mysterious, linked ways. A lot happened today, in not a whole lot of words. Here it is only Monday and I'll tell you what Sally told me regarding my repost, "I've treated my sixes like a sailor on leave." I have done the same, my friend, and your story has given me 7-starsworth of entertainment.

Ben is certainly making a difference for God with his freeing of those women held in bondage as certain as slavery. He's also just made a difference in the life of Billy Sunday. I'm impressed by the ways you find for Ben to help others who turn out to be important in some way.

Things are going well for Ben and Tony. The former is driven by his mission of rescuing the Diamond Jim ladies and has arranged for clothing/food and transport for them and his preaching has come to the attention of Al Spalding much to Tony's delight. I can't help feel that Diamond Jim might well be making an appearance soon though... A well expressed story as ever with good pace and dialogue. Thanks for sharing, Wayne, Debbie

What I really liked about this chapter was the caution that Ben developed. He gave a good warning to Angelo so that he would be careful especially if two were behind him. Ben learned not to proceed without asking God first and after being prayerful, and doing good research about the next group of women he wanted to free, he also enlisted help from a church who prepared the women for their escape.
I also like that Ben didn't just accept the preaching but offered Billy Sunday because he knew God was calling him. It takes a lot of humility before God to not just blindly accept all opportunities but consider who else may be more gifted for the job.

Billy Sunday was both an outfielder in baseball, but also a brilliant preacher favoured by the Lord as an advocate for the most high. But I like your series,,not many write these stories following a man of God, well done Wayne, blessings Roy

Ben seems to have an increasing number of irons in the fire. I'm wondering how long he can keep this up for before he runs out of energy or makes some serious enemies. kay
