A very clever write, stopping just short of thirteen syllables in your "hippo" word. Yes people with GAD and OCD often suffer phobias. Well done for resolving or coming to terms with most of yours. A clever and entertaining write. J

Thank you so much. I figured the best medicine is laughing at myself.

This is pure genius. There is a way to work around some phobias, so that is most encouraging. Just separate the long words into manageable bites without OCD to count them out X number of times.

Love the artwork too!

thank you Gloria, I am recovered for the most part thanks to a clever CBT counselor. But now stuck with GED.

Well generalized anxiety disorder really seems to be the root cause of all phobias. Thank goodness for talk therapy. :)

I think you are right there. It's like peeling off layers.

Yes! Like an onion that is only layers. I suppose there is a genetic element to it as well.

Loretta,
Your poem is enlightening for someone like me who also suffers many unusual phobias like I fear the night sky when I look up, because I'm afraid I might fall into its depths never to be heard from again.
That's just one of many.
The way you set up your poem is creative, humorous, and you get your point across.
Good luck,
Cindy

Thank you Cindy and good luck with your phobias. Have you tried CBT? It saved me.

I am so sorry that you have this affliction. I experience anxiety from time to time (apart from my cardiophobia, which I was diagnosed with last year). Despite your anxiety you produced a very creative and entertaining poem that I enjoyed reading.

Thank you, but no way is it comparable to the beautiful poem you wrote.

Well thank you, coming from someone as talented as you that means a lot. You are far better at prose than I?ll ever be.

We?ll see how things shake loose in the contests going on right now.

Loretta, I wanted to laugh at the very creative poem you wrote. The presentation is simply brilliant! I could not only feel your phobia. I could see it.

I would not want to laugh at some who had 32 phobias. That's beyond comprehension, but thankfully you were cured.

Very well written. Terry

Most people have phobias in something.

I cant handle long words, especially the pronunciations.

I can't even manage more than 8 syllables.

Anyway, I don't use long words.

Thanks for sharing your views

This phobia poem, It's All True, seems to begin after the fear of multisyllabic words has had its effect on your phobia-leaning personality. ............................................................................................

correct! Thanks for seeing that. There are 13 syllables in that hippo word before I freak out.

That is certainly an unusual phobia. But a lot of things that people fear are odd. This is well written as you have broken up the words as it is still easy to read. Good job.

Thank you so much for your review. I once read about a woman who was afraid of knees.

Your poem made me smile. I like how you formatted it, choosing the words and how you presented some of the words broken down by the syllables to drive the point home.
