Wish I had a six. In the Flash 100 you gave us a beginning, a middle, and an end. I sat here pondering the emotional dead end one would feel in this situation. So easy...just so much easier to stop the pain altogether. Excellent that you leave it to the reader to determine what "the coward's way out" is. I'm voting for you, anonymous. I wish I had the skill to write this!

When we realise we have made a big mistake, it is hard to reverse it when it comes to relationships because we always live in hope things will change and they never do, a fine post, love Dolly x

The story is very intense and you did it in 100 words. I know the grief you write about. When my ex left me I didn't want to live anymore, but my children were all grown up. You would take care of your baby? It's not clear. The characters seem real. Good luck in the contest.

Dear fellow writer,
I do hope that this is a fictional person, and not you - but, saying that, many of us have been there, and at any moment round the world thousands of people, men and women, will be in this exact same situation.
In this case, it is the man who is the betrayer - he has walked all over her, used her a convenience to get what he wants - he has turned her against her friends and family. Now he has abandoned her and her young son, with no explanation.
I wish I hadn't met so many people with this tale of misery - in one form or another. The only support I can give is to help people to share their burden with close friends, and let them take some of the strain; that's why there are so many women's support groups. And if you have a faith, now's the time to exercise it; there is no love greater than God's love - and He is one who never lets us down or abandons us.
And for those reasons I ask you to see that there is light - and it will grow brighter as you reach out, beyond yourself and your pain, to discover that living is still the best option.
A well considered study in desperation. May you never reach that point!

I thank you for the uplifting words as there were times in my lie I thought taking my life was the answer, but as I cry there would be a strong force that wrapped me up in their arms and held me till I made it though. The story is fictional. I am very blessed in my life and I am well aware. I think that is why I can write such horrible things. Life is a mystery.

Oh no, don't do that, if only for the sake of your child! It's amazing what a dependent life can do for us, this is a great entry in this flash fiction story, well done, good luck, blessings Roy

Oh this is too sad. I do hope there is light at the end of the tunnel. And I wish you all the best in the competition with this moving snippet of prose.
