The syllable counts per line all check out, and I like the euphony of the second line. As this is an entry for the haiku contest, I don't know how this will do though, as (if I'm not mistaken)traditional haiku really need a concrete image, whereas this is very abstract. But then the CEC may not be evaluating entries based on their adherence to tradition. Either way, I wish you good luck!

You?re absolutely correct. I have revised this one to fit the classic haiku format. Otherwise, it sound just be a 5-7-5 poem. Got confused and posted it under the wrong contest. Hopefully this version will be acceptable. Thanks for the heads up.

I kept trying to give this haiku a six star rating. I must have used my allotment for the week. This is really good, June, and so deserving of the highest rating. You are getting so good with your images. I like the expression "a splash of color." That's so artsy.
