Profound and touching work here.
If it is biographical, I'm sorry for your loss. I've lost someone too.
Again
I appreciate your sharing personal thoughts through your poetry.
Keep up the great work

Thanks, Chuck, for this surprising review. I didn't expect to read a review from a previous post, but I appreciate it nonetheless.
Yes, it is true, I lost my companion cat named Sunny. She was dear to my heart, and I miss her more every day.
    Thanks for the kind review.

Such a beautiful poem, Jesse, clearly an expression of love and grief from the deepest recesses of your heart. I found nothing in this lovely poem I thought could be improved. It is perfect as is. MM

Jesse,
Hi. I hope your road to recovery is a smooth one.
This beautiful poem deserves a six-star review. I get beautiful images with your profound, bittersweet words.
"Change is clearly an eternal song..." is such a unique way of describing change.
Good luck, Jesse.
Please let me know about your progress after your back operation.
Ada,
Blessings,
Cindy

This is a wonderful grief poem. I am touched by your words and my condolences on Sunny's passing. "Combine sweet dreams with heartbreaking grief" are two perfect lines that capture feelings. I can relate.

I am new on this site so I do not know who Sunny is... Perhaps your wife?
I am so sorry for your loss and hope that each day brings you closer to peace..
This is such a lovely heartfelt poem dear Jesse.

It's a saying that goes without saying, the sun will still rise in the morning no matter waht has taken place prior. It doesn't make a loss any more easier to handle. Nice poem.

A sweet little verse conveying a sense of nature carrying on despite our own transience in this world. Your verse has a 4-5-4-5 count in three rhyming stanzas. Thanks for sharing. Debbie

Jesse, this is fabulous! I think this is the first poem I've read from you.

Of note: pleasant memories mix with misery. Isn't that the way death plays upon our psyches.

Life goes on, but I'm sorry you must do so without Sunny.

Hi James,
A pet is a member of your family so you grieve for it like you would a person. I takes time and then the memories are just fun.
Keep writing and stay healthy
