This is another excellent chapter. You included some interesting things about Billy Sunday. I am glad Tony was able to see a baseball game. I do not see any need for improvement. Have a blessed day.

Wow! Your excellent story continues, but this time with an edge of reality about it, with your interjection of Billy Sunday's tale. What an appropriate name! Really enjoyable. Thank you.

Yes, makes you wonder what influence Billy's name had on his passion.

I like that you put Billy Sunday into your story. I knew about him but I didn't know he was a baseball player or that he was saved by hearing a street preacher. I enjoyed the song you encluded with you story.

How cool! Now we've got some historical fiction interweaved into your story, Wayne. This was a great chapter as Ben and his faithful companion, Tony, have found the perfect place to preach their gospel--before and after a baseball game. What a great vehicle to draw the crowds and spread the word. This is going very well. - Jim

This chapter was filled with exciting happenings from the 1880's era. Baseball was welcomed as the beloved sport of the day. You wove the true story of Baseball player Billy Sunday into the chapter with skill. Well done, Wayne. Nancy:)

How fascinating that you have included the real story of Billy Sunday in your story and that you made Ben Persons the street preacher. It just goes to show that Ben attending the game and the carnival events before the game were also under God's control and will.
Well done.
Wendy

This is really a special moment for Ben. I don't know if Billy Sunday was a White Stocking, but he certainly accepted Ben's message with how he lived his life. Definitely chalk up a home run for Ben. I love the song you have here.

Yes, Billy Sunday really was a Chicago White Stocking baseball player.

Evangelical Ben sure shows his stuff in this chapter.

acting as if held a bat, his hands close together. [ ... as if {HE} held a bat,]

Billy Sunday!? If he is THE Billy Sunday, how much of his conversion is true? Even if fictional, it makes good reading.

Good job. I look forward to each new installment, Wayne.

Jay

Yes, there was a famous evangelist named Billy Sunday who played outfield for the Chicago White Stockings. And... he got saved by the words of a street preacher!

Oh, not only are your keeping the baseball game historically accurate, you're bringing in Billy Sunday! Cool. But I don't think Ben is a real historical figure...

Punctuation suggestions:
Ben replied, probably won't ( Ben replied, "Probably won't)

Not my team. ("Not my team.)

    Nope, Ben is fictional.

A well written story in this continuing saga of Ben's calling. In this his dedication becomes ever more apparent and he uses whatever opportunity he can find to convey his message, no matter how briefly, to the people entering and leaving the ballpark. But his particular achievement comes in the form of urging one of the Chicago White Stocking to attend the local Church. Ben is on a mission and his sense of calling is now in full flow. One small edit: para starting "Getting back into position..." - acting as if ? held a bat. Thanks for sharing, Wayne. Debbie
