Isn't it amazing what will power and self-confidence can do for a youth, and when initiated is nurtured to stay with them throughout life. Your son's daughters have been blessed with such a man.

Yes, it is. Thos self-confident and determined kids are hard to parent, but I know it can be done, with God's help. Thank you for the support. He daughters are equally as self-confident and strong willed, even at their early ages. His 5 year when he was correcting her the other day said, "But, Daddy that doesn't make sense." He contacted me, "Mom, what do I do?" I just smiled and said, "Enjoy the ride."

Hard work and determination pays off in a big way for those who are willing to put in the effort. Sounds like your children had a great role model. Thanks for sharing.

This is a lovely memory for your granddaughters to have about their father. I love his determination. He made up his mind what he wanted to do and went for it.

Thanks for sharing the picture, notes, and letter, barbara. Did your son go to West Point, or did the injury preclude him from that, as well? I know how you feel about youngsters and football. I didn't want my son to play football, either, Luckily, he liked baseball, and the three of us love baseball in our house.

You wrote a very good letter and told a good story. Your granddaughters will probably like your made up word for your son! The lessons learned section is also well done.

I am curious about the word limit this program allows. Is it a specific space you write in or they just say don't go over so many words?

Specific space to write in. I'm not to have to add my own. I try but can't keep it limited to the space. No, Andrew could not pass the physical so couldn't go to West Point. He graduated from an engineering school. Thank you for the support.

You are welcome and thanks for sharing everything. I'm sorry he couldn't go to West Point, but it sounds like he has done very well with the choices he made.

Barbara, these are great! All the little details that families loose with time will be saved for your grandchildren.

I think this idea is absolutely wonderful!

Good job!

Thank you for the support. Am I going to get to read about Greg, soon?

Yes. Just got back from Virginia. Was hiking the Appalachian Trail. It was so cool. Gonna try to submit a chapter tonight and one tomorrow. Then I?m heading north for a week to run security at a kids camp next week. Summers are always busy.

A man who sticks to his guns and does not easily accept the word no, will go far in the world. I know something about that. The biggest asset a man can have it the belief in himself and his ability to climb a tree or a mountain. It's no big thing, just do it.

What a beautiful letter to your grand daughters to tell them their father's childhood

Don't underestimate the ability of a child. If he thinks he can do it at five, let him try.

You did it and he proved to you he could do it.

Thanks for sharing.

What we call football, is not soccer, rugby, or grid iron, but a pretty rough, highly skilled and dangerous, I would like my grand boys bpnot to play it, but they love, and played it, I too played it in my youth, along with several other games, I thought that was the reason for school, beautifully written Barbara, blessings Roy

I don't feel as if there is anything to review here. This is your cherished memory, and there are not enough stars to give to people brave enough to share these. I wish you lots of joy in your journey telling these stories to your grandchildren.

Thank you for the virtual six. I appreciate the review. I put off writing these for a while, thinking I couldn't think of anything to say. Now, it's fun.

Good! I procrastinate too, and I also never think I have important things to say about anything. There's no doubt you do. :))
