This is an amazing story very well told! Another weird thing, I went to UTA and graduated in 1982. I still live close to Dallas. Your reference to the area helped make me feel more connected.
Lots of emotion here. Great job!

Hey Rhonda the guy my friend and I met was attending the local university. Its likely then that you crossed paths with him at UTA. We were always running to people from the university. His parents were devasted as his death came out of nowhere. My true love story actually reveals that there was a time when Mary lived with her baby in Ft. Worth area with an Aunt and Uncle while I was in school. She had told me that many times she was tempted to reach out to me in Arlington, but was so down on herself she couldn't do it. Then she decided to give her former husband a second chance and took a risk going to Southern Illinois. Thanks!
I lived in Texas for about eight years. ps. Another side note, I once met BJ Thomas. We knew where he lived behind our college and would jog past his home, even if "Raindrops were Falling on My Head." LOL

It's truly a small world. That would be an amazing coincidence if I had met him.
BJ Thomas, sooooo cool!!! Gotta love those raindrops, hehe.
Also gotta love those love stories.

Well, since you got many nudges from the Spirit in this post, I hope you were the one to rescue Mary. I'm sure the next post will tell us!

Thanks for the encouragement. I'm actually eager to get the next few chapters out and highlight so much providence and love that can move mountains!

This is a great story. I've had a few of those moments too when I knew that God was urging me to speak to someone about him. It is easier to put it down to your imagination because your are afraid the other person will misunderstand and resent you speaking up. I was pretty sure Mary was going to continued to be in your life.

Your story is very well written, and I enjoyed listening to it. I wish you the very best. It is sad when a man beats his wife so severely has happened in the story. Patricia.

Your story is fascinating to me. I believe God was in control of your life, therefore these incidents you describe are far more than simple coincidences. I can't wait to read the rest of the story.

A complex story full of tragic events and we never know when the end is nigh and the moral of this story is to grab life when it throws opportunities our way. I was entertained and I enjoyed your tale, love Dolly x

Wow, it really was a rocky road for Mary, and it's funny how God works, and even though our very lives seemed threatened, and even though we've gone against His perfect will, and entered that permissive area, if we are sorry, He still remains with us during those times, beautifully written Stan, blessings Roy

What is so great about this is your honesty in relating the uncertainties and questioning along your particular journey. This isn't about thrashing the message of Christianity but it's subtle, compelling and very well crafted. I enjoy your prose, your expressions and analogies, particularly in the beginning. You have a good balance of story and dialogue which gives your story pace as well as impressive characterisation. No noticeable errors. Well done! Debbie

Goodness. What a tale! And it's true. Wow! It needs a bit of a spell check but it is lively with description and realistic dialogue. Well done on this and thank you for sharing such personal work.
