Congrats on your 3rd place win for 'Cancer Free'. I have had cancer myself, too, and I know how scary it is. Getting through it and knowing you are now free of it is certainly cause for celebration!
My only suggestion here is where it says "I didn't know what to think...", you just have the letters mixed up in the word 'didn't'. It reads 'ddin't'. An easy thing to fix!
Thank you for sharing and wishing you continued good health! :)

Thank you for sharing your story of survival. I like the approach you took to the story. You are very matter of fact with the story, not including any fluff or flowering it up any. You are very matter of fact just like people need to be when they face cancer and the follow-up checkups to catch any reoccurrence early.

VIRTUAL SIX STARS!
Good for you! God Bless and keep you kids are free. Thank goodness I've never had cancer but my husband actually had cancer as a one year old. He beat it, but he lost sight in his left eye. He has had to keep checking the rest of his life, and he had it once again, when he was around 30. So yes, keep checking but you'll keep fighting and beating it God forbid it returns. I have.had MS for 30 years, and it won't kill me , but it's taking my sight my balance my mobility, over these years, I'm a doctors and medicines I fought back each time. So I see and I walk still. The best you could do is stay on top of your health. keep checking even if you feel well. It's kind of a pain to do but it may keep you alive.Excellent writing! Best wishes :)) Alex

I am rejoicing with you that your are cancer free! That is certainly no small feat! I would encourage you to share some of the emotion you felt or even still feel as you look back on that time; this might also help the story flow with a bit more ease. Thank you for sharing your awesome news!

I can imagine the relief of not having cancer, or rather, having it cured, despite your parents thoughtfully not wanting you to go through the angst of it all. Beautifully written my friend, well done, good luck, blessings Roy
