Hi MariVal,
I have an affinity with birds... especially the black ones. I know there is a lot of superstition involving them... but I'm wondering if it a white-man's fear?
Hmmmmmm, I think so.
Not this whitey, crows and ravens are my spirit animal... and besides, they are one of the most intelligent species of the feathered flock... and much more intelligent than some humans' I have encountered.
A magnificent presentation... and your alliteration, does take flight.
Bared bough... dusk dust... outstanding!
Here you have written a haiku that feels much longer, more meaty than usual with this type of short formed poem.
You are definitely the Queen of short form... hmmmmm, but then again your free verse can stir my emotions as well.
Guess you're stuck with this fan!
With our thoughts we create...
fear within fables.
Warm regards,
James.

If you get stranded in an island with wifi and obviously you would had all the time in the world AND decided to read all my poems....2500 and going, you would know how much I love ravens and crows. They are very smart and mysterious. It doesn't surprise me that they are your spirit birds. My spirit animal is a wolf.
Thank you for going through all my new and old poems, you are the best!

I did remember Reina Lobo Gitana.
No, you are the best!
If I do get stranded on an island and I do get wi-fi and I do have the means to read every one of your poems... I would gladly with eager eyes, mind and heart.

Hehe ... thank you, James :) there are many not worth reading. But once in a while, I get it right.

A beautiful poem and it's very symbolic. I love the pictures you choose, they go perfectly with your poems. Today is my birthday and one of my goals is to start learning to write points from challenges in our class. :)) Alex

I enjoyed the alliteration of bared bough and dusk dust. The idea of dusk dust is very vivid. Thank you for once again setting the standard of what poems should look, read, and feel like.

Gypsy,
Such a deep, dark, beautiful poem.
The raven has become famous for omens, etc, but your poem tells of a majestic bird taking flight.
I like the images I get from your poem.
Nice work, Gypsy.
Good luck with all your writing.
Blessings,
Cindy

This is a beautiful haiku. The picture illustrates it perfectly. You have a real gift with nature haikus. The alliteration of dusk dust is an outstandingly creative idea.

This was a very picturesque poem. I could almost see a sparkling mist after the black raven took flight. Haiku is a very tricky type of poem. Some just fall flat. They check all the boxes for requirements but I don't feel anything when I read them. Yours go above and beyond. I get an experience when I read them. Well done. Gretchen

Wow, I'm honored with your kind and detailed review.
The satori (a moment of insight based on observation) is an essential part of classic haiku. It's not easy but when you get it is great.
Thank you, Gretchen.

I really like the "dusk dust"! And that's such a cool picture making the raven look majestic and mysterious as he takes of flying into the blackness of night leaving dusk behind.
