Great job!

Most young people can't even imagine a world without electronics and social media..... or walking to the television to change a station. It's a world outside their imagination, but I believe they will appreciate knowing that it was "your past".

Smiles, Carol

You might want to eyeball the last two paragraphs on your notes... seems like there might be some mistakes.

This was really cool! I love this next chapter in the legacy you're leaving your granddaughters. It was interesting to learn more about the TV... I grew up with cable, and then satellite now so much is streaming through the internet!

Your points made me laugh... especially the 'people used to dress up when going places' one. That's really true, and a comment I've heard my parents make once or twice.

Very thoughtful and with a great sense of humor. Looking forward to the next!

I love this idea, and I hope your granddaughter's treasure this information. I would love to get my grandmother to share about her life and childhood with me. She has no idea how much interest I take in her and her stories!

This is good information about the way things were back then. Until you are reminded, it is hard to imagine how much things have changed. I sure to our grandchildren they think those those you mentioned are like living in the dark ages. Lol

Have you returned from the Twilight Zone, where yesterdays are for more seen than Peter and Wendy in Tomorrowland? In reflection, I have no idea if we ever had a color tv. It made no difference to me, the scripts were similar. If you are still away in the T.Z., say hello to Clayton and Silver for me, please.

Hi Barbara,

This is a good thing to do. It gives a small first-hand history account for the young ones. It's amazing how much changes in the course of a lifetime - some shockingly fast, some shockingly slow and other things that should change stay the same - like attitudes!

Good stuff
G

This is such a wonderful write and such a talented hand that wrote it! I can relate to the idea of not being satisfied with one's own writing. I too Do the same thing and I'm glad I'm not the only one so thank you for that!
I used to love to listen to my grandfather. Tell me stories and legal his bottom false teeth at me. Occasionally though you brought back I lovely memory at that I thank you for it.
I know how often it's private but simply there so I can really relate to so much about you written. Having settled that I find the wishes with grammar punctuation spelling matter. I think it's all very well done by extremely talented person. I look forward to more and I hope you're eating this great!

I agree with you that this letter is too old for the youngsters now, but I would think10 and 12 would be ages they would say, no way, or some such astounded remark about the black and white TV and only 3 channels, and the other things you mentioned.
3 and 5 year olds, how advanced are they today? I've no idea. Sometimes I think kids would like to regress a bit and do and see things young, silly, loving, or a little bad, like mud fights, "Guess what I Am, games, using their imaginations, things they think up themselves, that make them think and appreciate innocent humor.
I honestly do not know how a loving parent explains all the sick stuff being taught kids today. I just hope they know that it's bad.

Thank you for sheding a little light on my past. You took each of your readers on a little self disclosure and shared some of the challenges that we faced way back then lol. Your flow was excellent and the content informative.

Hi Barbara,
apart from the babysitting, I totally relate. My first viewing of colour TV was in, or around 1974... yes, the rabbit ear antenna needing to be adjusted when changing channels.

How times have changed. In saying that, change is a certainty for us all in some way or another... change is the only thing we can depend on occurring. Resistance is futile as the saying goes, so I'll go with the flow.

Love that you are writing letter for your Granddaughters. I'm sure they will treasure the information and wisdom shared.

With our thoughts we create...
time frames.

Kind regards,
James.
