Well, you were a corker, as my dad used to say. At fifteen, one's brain is still evolving, so I guess that explains your knack for making bad, even worse. Still, it was a learning experience. I once talked half my small class (13) into crawling out the classroom window and walking down to the store for candy and soda. Good think the principal liked me too because we got off with a scolding. Good luck in the contest.

What a fun story! I was giggling at the descriptions of the narrator's self-admitted stupidity. I was also impressed with his plan of not telling his parents about his suspension. A bold move that would have worked, if only...... Loved this story and definitely will enjoy reading more.
The only reason for 5-star rating is due to minor edits. Such as:
"This is a piece of cake", I said to myself. Review punctuation and unnecessary words.

This is very amusing and I am so glad to see it is fiction. Although it really sounds real the way you tell it, which is great storytelling. I does sound like something a fifteen-year-old would do to impress his posse.

Growing up can be painful! Glad you weren't harmed in the process. My dad has a lot of 'juvenile delinquent' stories from childhood he shares... one includes flushing cherry bomb fireworks down the boy's toilets at church. I've heard it about five times. :)

This was interesting and got to the point. Though, it was heavy on the 'telling' but that's the style, I think.

Great read, thanks for sharing!

Zoe. Thank you for a fine review. Yes, the main Charector was telling the story.

I enjoyed this humorous fun story, written in the authentic vernacular of a teen-aged boy. If the protagonist had told the truth, he still may have been grounded, but he wouldn't have to pay for his brother's car damages, and cops would not have been involved. This story demonstrates that teenagers are often not mature enough to think things through accurately.

This is an excellent story, from beginning to end. My Uncle George used to say, the brain leaves the body when a child becomes a teenager, and they get it back at 20. This is a great example. I do not see any room for improvement. Have a blessed day.

Well written.
That ain't all you shoulda done/not done. I'm glad you didn't side-swipe a kid. It's kind of amazing how a small thing (firecracker) can affect an entire life.
Best wishes.

Boy, was that ever the wrong decision or decisions! Sorry, but I couldn't help laughing at your hairbrained teenage adventure. I do think your punishment was quite appropriate and reading this was fun. Evi

This story about consequences was entertaining from beginning to end. The colloquial voice was endearing and enjoyable. I liked how the stakes were exactly as high as they should be for a high school kid. There was drama and excitement and dread, but it wasn't over the top. The tone and the content fit really well together.
